Forgot to add one thought about the SAKK epi.....I don't get why that Shagun is still running after Shaurya and his family so much for the rishta after they keep rebuffing them every time......and the funny thing is that it's not even like she's saying ki ok I'll drop the PhD, I just want to marry you.....lol no, she still wants to have both even after Shaurya and the family have told her like a 100 times ki no, deal is off.

She keeps repeating ki relationship itne saalon ki thi, so why call it off for this.....but it still doesn't make sense to me why she keeps pleading with Shaurya....agar itne saalon ki relationship thi and he just tossed you away over this one thing, then that should be a clue enough.....but lol I guess the very fact that she was in a relationship with a guy like this of her own free will for so long speaks volumes😆

Oh one other bit that made me roll my eyes was Shaurya saying he was willing to allow Shagun to be a guest lecturer at his Institute after their marriage since it would make her happy.....lol as if he's giving her some toy to distract her from having a real job.....🤔.....Shagun keeps giving him WTF looks but still keeps running after him to save this shaadi😕😆

At the end of the day it comes down to aaj kal ki generic ladkiyan are indecisive and confused they have no clear thought process they are told ya toh shaadi ya azaadi and both cannot co exist and they take it as the kismat which is such a sham tbh. Isko shaadi bhi chahiye and azaadi bhi and she is a little oblivious to the fact that she is few of the fortunate ones who can actually make a choice and actually choose her career over the shaadi . I would call it the inbuilt patriarchy if sorts that doesn't allow the girls to go ahead and take the steps that are needed even forward thinkers and outgoing gets bogged down by their ownselves where they think yeh kich galat kar rahi hai when infact nahi hota galat kuch be and i think isi guilt tripping main ke she has given dhoka she isn't seeing the clear rejection from shaurya and family and ab she is falling into desperation mode instead of being a forward thinker i suppose.

In particular, I can't stop making a note of the fact that a FL on ITV is firmly repeating in almost every epi ki "Shaadi meri manzil nahin hai".....lol when literally EVERY GODDAMN show on ITV runs on the premise of beta shaadi kar lo, zindagi mein aur koi goal nahin hai.....aur ab baith ke pati ke around life revolve karo.

Today Shaurya-Anokhi got some interactions....first was the traffic stop scene where she overheard him saying to Shagun on the phone that he wanted a wife who'd give him more importance over her career and dreams and Anokhi says, "Rubbish"....lol.....Shaurya doesn't see her face there but he gets pissed hearing someone diss him. Served him right :P haha i like dono kainstant reaction to each other being rubbish only🤣 he also paused the debate and went rubbish ek hi jaise hain in ways but itne alag😆 rofl at The great shaurya ji audio clip bhhi na sun paaye aage chal ke kaise jhelein ge😆

Iske baad wala scene is the best one in the epi.....a conversation between Anokhi and Aastha ma'am where they talk about patriarchy again.....and how men and women equally contribute to it by this point.....very well written scene touching on a whole host of issues related to patriarchy in terms of why it stems from the need to control women....and over time women seem to have gotten used to being controlled by men.....the little bit when Anokhi asks, "Kya auratein is vicious cycle ko todna chahti nahin, ya tod paati nahin"? and Aastha goes...."shaayad dono".....very thoughtful convo. That was👏 Such a thoughtful scene and conversation presented in the simplest way. i really liked how upfront they were in pointing out the flaws and how women have themselves enabled the men and now it has come so far ahead that even if they want they can't fight back and how it is now part of life it is like women themselves want to be controlled at times caz they feel it is totally normal. i like that anokhi has this kind of camaraderie with her teacher where she can talk so openly with her and yet that line of respect is maintained the regard she has in her eyes for her teacher it is so lovely she isn't worshipping her or anything but woh jo ek bharosa and role model ki tarah dekhna hai itis presented in a very organic way and handled very well.

Second SA interaction was in the college when she bumps into him while running in the corridor.....lol her lipstick leaves a smudge on his sleeve....isse pehle wala scene was cute when her friends were trying to get her to put on lipstick.....I like that Anokhi is a tomboy in many ways.....sports shoes pehenti hai with her suits😆.....hatke hai. haha tomboy toh hai yeh it was lovely to hear a girl say she can't waste her time in perfecting her lips 😆 and aww at the didi bringing her new sneakers too woh bhi refreshing hai ke koi usual sa gift nahi but sneakers though they were pretty girly with all the glitter but still naya hai woh. i toh like that she rides a bicycle and not the usual scooty too😆

the girls in the change room were also like a breath of fresh air they were busy in their usual gossip about the teacher and all but bohat general assumptions thay koi bohat extra judgemental ya ghussi nahi padi thi in moral policing and dusra i was happy that none of the girls were focused on boys and shaadi vyaah. aajkal toh inko girls bonding dikhani hoti hai toh abs yehi topic milta hai. so that was very welcoming change too. i really enjoyed how the girls mentioned anokhi ka rishta but it didn;t had a condenscing or jealous tone ke hai iska ho gaya hum reh gaye types that hasrat wali tone they usually make the random girls show . it was good to see ke sab ki sab shaai obsessed nahi hain

They are using that "Anokhi teri Jugni" wala song for her scenes with Shaurya too....lol thankfully koi romantic theme nahin hai so far. i actually liked that scene more for how casual the tone was kuch setup feel nahi tha ke first takkar then slo mo and ladke ko isntant crush ho gaya it was very usual and felt practical ek dum simple tha. sweet tha but lol his pendu sounded so ajeeb to me he went Pindu instead of pendu 😆 yeh koi naya hip version hai kya aajkal of pendu not up to date with this slang hahah

End mein they also showed Aastha seeing Shaurya in the college and recognizing him....trying to sneak glances at him while staying out of his sight in the auditorium....emotional ho gayi. that was so well done Clearly she was forced too to leave him behind the longing and mamta was clear and the way she turned instantly hearing his name caz she probably didn;t knew. beautifully enacted bit and then her double checking the WA msg to confirm. Kaafi acha bit tha woh very understated yet full of feel i really liked it .

Right now Aastha is the most intriguing character and makes you want to know her backstory.....tomorrow's precap has her running into Shaurya but I can't tell if Shaurya recognizes her or not.....he might have insulted her cuz Anokhi is blasting him for being rude to her Aastha ma'am Yup i wanna know the backstory to. lol becharia ashtha maam ka face when unki fav ne unki hi parvarish ( jitni bhi ki unho ne) pe sawaal utha dia and woh embarrasment wala look. i think he recognizes her too which is precisely why she was trying to hide and then i guess isi liye badtameezi bhi karega out of bitterness to show he is mad at her and in that moment anokhi will come to protect her fav teacher. SO far i do like that too ke ladka wasie badtameezi nahi karta jaisa ke norm hai 😆.

the other thing i have to mention is i got so excited seeing real locations through the windows of the car and bus throughout the drive the real sign boards the fields and not the cgi wala same repeated auto they show in most shows. Bohat refreshing tha and i instantly felt like am back home given how similar the landscape is and all the signs and architecture. it just gave the whole thing a more relatable vibe

oh BTW the sabharwals are so good at marooing taane but in such a sly understated manner aaj woh uncle and devi kya baja rahi thi shagun and family ki but itne dheeme lehje main i was really appalled at their you had us the great sabharwals as a backup and shaurya se shaadi karna is an equal opportunity as getting in cambridge uhhh what bada hi oocha sochte hain khud ke baare main 😆🤣

also watched Ghkkpm out of sheer boredom and wow at the progress Virat Sir literally pointing towards his feet and asking sai to touch them to take aashirwaad for college 🤔🤪 and feeling offended ke uska nahi lia also sai forcing everyone to give aashiwaad and physically ahrrassing them i have never seen a more retarded and outrageous female character . such Nonsene but this is what peopleall pathbreaking WOW JAI ho charan kahan hai aapke

Word to your review. Haan I'm liking the same thing so far that even though Shaurya is a misogynist, he doesn't go out of his way for OTT badtameezi or retaliation....he is judgemental but basically apna point of view rakh deta hai rather than trying to tear down someone....even in Shagun's case, he's just avoiding her after breaking off with her rather than trying to sunaao her all the time.

Waise toh woh typical cliche ho hi gaya hai that Anokhi already has a deep connection with Shaurya's mom who might turn out to be her MIL eventually.....lol but so far the way it's being executed saves it from feeling put on.....sabke apne independent bonds and equations hain....even if it's quite likely that ultimately Anokhi only will help bridge the gap b/w mother-son.

Re: locations....lol most shows aajkal show real locations in the first 2 weeks.....baad mein sab set pe settle ho jaate hain....so I'll wait to see how long the real locations last.....lol

Re: pendu....LOL I think it sounded weird cuz of the way he talks muh ke andar thoda sa garbled....otherwise he said pendu only.....I'm kinda getting used to his character and acting now....lol.....haha good catch on both of them saying "rubbish" on hearing each other's views.....similarity toh hai in being headstrong about their viewpoints. Ideological clash hoga.

Re: Sabharwals....lol yes, they are experts in sly taunts it seems....this is why I don't get why Shagun and family keep groveling in front of them when they are just constantly doing their besti in this malmal mein lapet ke joota maarna style....thoda toh self-respect rakho bhai.....lol but yeah I do appreciate ki even if it's drama or taunting, it's not a screaming melodrama session.

Matlab hadh se zyada off track ho gaya hai uppar se alia keeps grabbing his shirt and they also played yeh fitter mera on their staring session matlab 🤪 kab hua itna koi connect kuch bhi baja do ek dum mismatch and irritating tha

Oh also sd brought sasta maawa cake from some bakery and alia was like sabotage and he went sabotage nahi hIi and phir woh Mrs and Mrs PW liked it

Itna zyada disconnect I felt na i turned it off

But sabse funny is precap main maa and bapou in room baapu trying to romance with aaj mausam bada beimaan hai playing in BG🤣🤣 and maa all weirded out 🤣

I completely lost connect in yesterdays episode and I think they are going to be in this mode only, so really no hopes from the show now. They are going for romcom genre but are failing badly in execution. Till now it was so slow with hit and miss and now fast forwarding with Sarang Alia scenes which makes absolutely no sense:( The whole episode was forced !

Thanks for the review:) Will have to wait to watch the episode. Lol, I am also more intrigued with Asthas character and that is also because I like the actor playing her😆. I am just so happy with lack of gaudy costumes and loud jewellery!

Story overall is way way better than any other current shows , atleast currently. Aage ka to we don’t know😆

The thing that really stands out in the show is everything is shown in a very understated way, which makes it more hard hitting and effective. The lack of dhan tan tan music and camera moving in circles and the lack of jarring music which is used to show intensity in such scenes is the biggest plus!! Once again, Anokhi is saved from her father's wrath by her sister....and it's these little bits that I'm finding really hard hitting.....that these women like her mom and her sister are so willing to step up and shield Anokhi even as they themselves go through so much abuse and torment.....it is easy to do naarebaazi of empowerment but it is the quiet warriors who win the everyday little battles that let a free spirit survive and live to fight another day.....that is the role these ladies are playing in Anokhi's life right now.

It is so heartbreaking to see stuff like this, the abusive relationship the sister is going through. At the same time , its good that she still manages to smile and have positive outlook towards life:) The way she tells her mom that I have got makeup to cover everything:(

When the mom tries to tell khoosat baap about doing something for their daughter, he says usine kuchh kiya hoga, uksaaya hoga🤢🤢 The best part for me is when mom says, nashta kar lijiye ga, thanda ho jayega👏👏 What a slap it was, not a literal one but more powerful for both dad and dadi. It was the look and strength in her voice!! Just loved that.

Btw I think the actress playing the sister - Bubbly might also have played Devki (Krishna's mom) in RK😆.....bahut familiar lag rahi hai.

I am bad with remembering faces🤔, she looks familiar but still I don’t remember her😆

Oh and the eyeliner getting messed up bit was another really touching one.....they are living in so much suffocation and repression and then a little moment of humor/smiles breaks through and feels the all the more powerful.

The way they smile and then start laughing, chhoti chhoti khushiyan here seems so invaluable. As you said they live in so much suffocation, that this simple moment becomes so much for them.

I honestly don't mind Shaurya that much....yeah he does speak dialogues thode muh ke andar garbled se but overall his acting really doesn't put me off that much.....his character really doesn't talk much right now....and jitna bhi bolta hai is in mostly sober tones.....he rarely raises his voice unlike most MLs who are in this mode......so far koi ruthless streak bhi nahin dikhaayi hai.....he just cut off from Shagun, not like he's going out of his way to now run her down. His scene with his Badi Maa shows that he has a softer side which he only displays with ones he trusts.....right now it's his badi maa, bade papa.....father ko totally shut out kiya hua hai so he doesn't even respond when his father tries to give him advice.

The good thing is he just goes silent, instead of threatening and forcing people around mode. I appreciate that. His dad really seems like a loser, is still wallowing and doing nothing except baatoing gyaan. So I do understand if he prefers his bade maa papa over his dad. His dad just goes to drinking and crying mode even after so many years. I don’t know what happened with him but still he has a responsibility towards his son and he cannot ignore that.

I guess base point yeh hai ki his acting is not wannabe types.....he can be blahh in some ways but mujhe wannabes and hyper types se zyada chidh hai.

Badi Maa deffo has a super bitchy side that she brings out against outsiders or ppl she disagrees with.....Shaurya toh worships her so she literally acts like a Devi around him....lol

She seems like someone who will do anything for aan, baan, shaan of the gharana. So she will emotionally manipulate Shaurya because of the kind of hold she has on him.

The misogyny depictions from Shaurya's side are going to be more about casual modern misogyny while Anokhi's father is what would be called a more "traditional" MCP.....Shaurya undercuts women with casual sexism....while Anokhi's father actively engages in repression and enabling of abuse vis a vis him justifying his own daughter getting beaten up by her husband.

Word to the entire bit!

On a different note, I like Anokhi's ghar wala nickname....."Nikki"....it sounds cute😆.....and LOL last wala photoshoot scene was hilarious.....I especially died laughing at the photographer asking her to do that stupid haathon ke beech mein se muh dikhaao pose😆

Photoshoot was hilarious, but so real 🤣 Those BGs and the poses 🤣 Holding Taj and do haathon se beech se dekho bit🤣 Photographer was so happy ke photo dekh ke hi shaadi ke liye haa ho jayegi 😆

Overall, even though drama hai, it's not the typical high voltage stuff so far ki ek hi line mein khade hokar sab cheekhte raho.....only Anokhi's dad seems a screamer....Sabharwals ki side pe it's more like understated bitchiness....lol

I'm really hoping ki the fact that they are showing so many women in Anokhi's life who are suppressed via marriage means ki she won't be thrust into this as quickly and story will be allowed to build up vis a vis her independence.
