That’s sweet.I think she shared it to show how positively movitating he was as a friend.❤️
I wish she didn't share this, because now some people are gonna quote him calling out the "mediocre" talent comment and present it in a different context, even if what he said is true. The thing is a lot of these people talking about Sushant seem to be doing so in a double-edged way, trying to say that he was great, yet bash him at the same time.
Putting that aside, he comes across as really sweet, encouraging and kind, yet very honest (which is rare). He seems like the kind of person who would know how to say something (that might be harsh) in the right way.

This was very sweet and goes to show how hardworking, humble and self aware he was. I hate having to use "was" every time I write about him.
Sushant saying he's good only because everyone around his mediocre, kinda shows that he wasn't giving himself credit where it was due. External locus of control as in beliving your success is a result of environmental factors, maybe luck, fate, circumstances, and in this case mediocre acting by others.
He's even playing down his success here! It's easier to feel powerless or hopeless like this... :(
Well, I hope he wasn't all external locus of control but both external and internal balanced out!
Sushant seems to give more credit to others lack of talent for his success than his own weight in movies, which probably stemmed from lack of self-esteem. Constant bullying and discrimination must have a role to play there. One can only guess though--perhaps he was downplaying it to be modest or fishing for some sort of reaffirmation by his friend that no, he's actually good--since he didn't seem to receive such positive affirmation from the company he kept.

But isn't that normal and okay? Isn't it a sign of modesty to think like that? As in being modest about his talent and not thinking highly about himself, and always believing there are still miles to go?
I'm really curious about this 😅 I have never thought of it that way. Even I, sometimes, attribute to my successes to luck and like him, to the mediocrity that surrounds, but all the while honestly not thinking myself as better or downplaying the skills of the people around. Is it really a sign of low self-esteem?

Had I read this chat without knowing the person was sushant, I would have surely thought.. Wow. He'd surely go miles ahead of everyone.. He'll succeed. Or that the said person is just being modest.
But knowing it's him, perception of chat changed. Feels like he was having very low self esteem..most probably coz of ppl in his fraternity.
