I don't understand why people share personal chats. If all my friends decided to share their chats they had with me, I'd obviously come across as being self-absorbed at some point. In the very wise words of Kevin Malone (from The Office) if you record someone long enough, they'll do something stupid sooner or later.

All to say, one line of Sushant's (about the rest being mediocre) shouldn't be taken out of context and people should really stop sharing their chats (esp when the other person's not around to defend themselves)

But knowing it's him, perception of chat changed. Feels like he was having very low self esteem..most probably coz of ppl in his fraternity.

I think what Kriti said makes most sense. His mind was his biggest friend and enemy. People who've exceptional do suffer more because their minds are tangled with what they could have acheived. The medium/average ones are happier to coast along.

I'm really curious about this 😅 I have never thought of it that way. Even I, sometimes, attribute to my successes to luck and like him, to the mediocrity that surrounds, but all the while honestly not thinking myself as better or downplaying the skills of the people around. Is it really a sign of low self-esteem?

Sometimes it is fine! But if you do that with every good thing happening in your life, then that's problematic~ lol

One should have a good balance of both having confidence in self and giving some credit to external sources. If there's a balance, it's probably not low self-esteem, and honestly, it depends on what you are giving luck, fate, and your environment for you know.

If Sushant worked with a team of mehh actors and he thinks he only shone because of them then okay understandable. But if he's thinking everyone's just bad in acting and he only got famous luckily, then that's not true. If he gives luck credit when he gets a gf then that'll be low self-esteem for example.

I can't say that the mediocre statement is showing the external locus of control of extreme level LMAO. Just a possibility lol

Overall, it all depends 🤣

I don't think he was average in any department. I actually even found him quite articulate here! Again proving my point! He had the ability to inspire the youth in this way because of how far he made it. What are star kids going to say in a speech to students? Study hard even though my success got handed to me on a platter. Everyone else needs to work hard to get ahead in the world.
