Madalsa Sharma addresses rumours of feud with Anupamaa's Rupali Ganguly, calls it ‘common on every set’

Madalsa Sharma, best known for her role as Kavya in Anupamaa and daughter-in-law of veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, has spoken out about rumours of tension between her and co-star Rupali Ganguly.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Madalsa dismissed the speculation, calling such disagreements a normal part of working on a long-running television show. “I think all these things happen on every set… eventually, we are all part of the same project, and whatever little disagreements happen, the next morning we hug it out and everything gets sorted. So I don’t think I can pinpoint anything that I didn’t like… everything was fine. We are human beings,” she said.

Her calm response comes amid reports suggesting that the actresses had not been on good terms during the final phase of her stint on Anupamaa. However, Madalsa made it clear that there was no bitterness or unresolved issue between them.

She also revealed that she hasn’t had the chance to meet Rupali or her other co-stars after exiting the show. “No, because after that I started a travel spree which is still ongoing… Everyone gets busy in their own lives, and of course, we are all in touch through phone calls and messages. But as for meeting, I don’t think I have met anyone after the shooting of the show,” she added.

Madalsa’s portrayal of Kavya Shah earned her recognition and a steady fan following. She joined Anupamaa in 2020, playing a strong, layered character opposite Sudhanshu Pandey and Rupali Ganguly. Her journey on the show lasted over four years before she stepped away in September 2024 to explore new opportunities.

Despite leaving the show, Madalsa continues to receive immense support from fans who appreciated her performance. Reflecting on her time in the series, she has often mentioned how the experience shaped her both personally and professionally.

While rumours of behind-the-scenes friction often follow popular shows, Madalsa’s remarks seem to have put an end to the speculation. Her balanced take and composed tone reflect the mutual respect that exists among the cast members of Anupamaa, even after parting ways from the daily set life.
