The person who has gone ..only he knows real reason ..

I feel there are always more than one reason for such severe depression. A mature person who has seen life, who is 34 yrs old will not go for suicide just bcoz of one reason. He must have been laid down by many things, many situations must have occurred where he would have felt discouraged, disheartened and disillusioned with life. Personal and professional reasons mixed. Its just that sometimes one thing triggers everything else which was lying buried in your psyche

Sushant was in depression for 2 years and undergoing treatment since last 6 months. Which means the man actually fought his state, must have waited and hoped for things to get better.

It is not a step which is taken just by being let down by one institution but many institutions - film industry, relationships (love or familial) , society, career & his ownself (his own dreams, ambitions and aspirations)

People like me are upset for nepotism and openly voicing out on social media. Why ? Anyone has all right to do whatever he or she wants to do with his money - no objections for that but when Bollywood Biggies claimed that only Star kids are more talented than outsider and deserve more than rest is problematic. Bullying and harassment associated with nepotism - is big NO NO for me. Doesn’t matter - whether I am standing alone on this.

Time to change- when we will change - Nepotism exist everywhere- learn to accept and survive . But nepotism is certain field like medicine, Arts and so on is big BIG NO.

Example - My mom and dad side - many uncle and Aunty are doctors - they built big hospitals , so they forced their kids to become a doctors as well. Many of my cousins struggled to pass the examinations and instead of 5-6 years of MBBS they took 8-9 years to complete . Indeed they are useless doctors and am not ashamed to say.
Same goes to my friends who are engineers, because their parents forced them to become one. They are struggling with life. Their interest was something else they could have done something , would be more successful and more happy.

One of my uncle is pilot - he forcing his son to become a pilot - he is struggling to pass it . Now he is thinking of using his powers? Just imagine if he become a pilot.

Nepotism shld be free in the field of art and medical fields. Selection shld be purely on the base of talents.

Now coming to support celebs kids movie- instead of saying - people will forget this eventually. I am positively sure at least - 1 or 2% would definitely remember this nepotism issue and will not watch any celebs kids movie. Will it make any difference , 200% not but at least there will be beginning.

Mayu, in your context you are right and you speak a completely different case here. In your case professions are being forced on kids. Do you think Sonakshi or Sonam or Varun or Abhishek or Tushar or Ranbeer or Bobby or Tiger or Hrithik were forced to become actors? No. They felt it best for themselves and chose to go that route and found people to invest in them coz of their contacts. Or otherwise have money in the family that they themselves made and chose to reinvest it on themselves. Again, not a crime. Successful ones sustain and others fall off the ladder. We have an entire line up of unsuccessful star kids as Jyoti mentioned.

I am primarily for entertainment. If I find an actor appealing male or female and the director is great and the story is good and the reviews are good, will watch 🤷‍♀️. Who am I to grudge their money or choice of team? Personally, the only guys who used to get me to the theatres are Akshay, Salman, SRK, Irrfan and Ayushman. That too review based. The only female actors of the current lot who pull me into the theatre are Bhoomi and Tapsee. I don’t look at anything else besides entertainment. Ofcourse if there’s a criminal conviction involved of someone or something rotten they have spoken in public than random third party accusations, I would surely be psychologically aligned off them and wouldn’t watch their work.

Bullying and harassment is a no-no for sure irrespective of industry and that should be resisted too for sure. But unless there’s actual evidence of that, how can we assume it? In Sushant’s case, what do we know besides these random contradictory reports? Who knows the reality? Whoever do, are silent and it’s unlikely the truth will ever out.

I agree Uma, a doctor or a pilot, the life’s are at stake if they are forced, but here the producer himself is losing money if his bet is lost! It’s all about scripts, content and performance now! If they don’t have talent they don’t last longer!

And he did not want anyone to know of it... and hence no mention anywhere.... (assuming it was suicide)

But I felt Sidharth’s answers were spontaneous precisely because he was thinking through as he spoke and measuring his words while being sure of how he saw things.

Yes, yes.. my bad....

What i meant was that he knew he would be asked about SSR and nepotism... especially since he himself has faced it to a certain extent... so he knew what message to give but he was speaking spontaneously and measuring his words carefully... infact he changed the words he used 3-4 times.

I know Nepotism couldn't be completely off rack...but if this outburst can help few deserving ones to have their chance, then this debate is worth it.. Nepotism can coexist as long as the talented ones doesn't have to be deprived of from opportunities..

And somewhat i have seen Nepotism and bullying might be different terms but nepotism do encourage Professional bullying at times...

exactly. If something good comes out of it then why not? It’s not wrong to fight against injustice ? Over here people are even arguing why now ? 😆 Come on at least now we are talking about it. Earlier we are not even bothered about it. So at least people are aware and start questioning then what’s wrong in that ? . I am positive, even if because of this at least 1-2 % people stopped watching celebs kids movies , I would still be happy and positive.

we can’t expect 100% changes in one go, it always happens slowly and gradually.

Nepotism in medical field is my POV shld be strictly no matter what- we are putting someone else at stake.

Haan. Exactly. All of those are primary jobs- directly connected with human lives- teacher, doctor, even pilot. If they are unsuccessful, thousands will be affected.

Secondary jobs are a different nature all together- it’s a co-dependent industry. They are external investors in to make a profit. If they don’t pick who they trust in, they will sink themselves. I personally know producers in our regional industry who committed suicide after massive losses in the movies. Much is at stake- it’s not like we say and assume from a distance.

And Sushant’s case has too many contradictory reports and too many unclear elements for us to base anything on whatever’s available.
