I agree season 1 wasnt iconic or anything with the way it went but undeniably it was a mega success..the characters were far better and subtle ....they we're typical ekta types but story is still better than s2. ...this season's prerna lacks self respect, s1 they say she was egoistic just because she showed self respect...anurag s1 was supposedly spineless and s2 is supposedly obsessive stalker psycho and what not...Mr bajaj and komo turned into clowns...so opinions might differ on that....i am saying this repetitively, s2 should have never been made....a spin off is different case , another season is different even next janam story is ok but who would be interested in watching the same thing over? And a dukh bhari kahani which was made more dukhi in s2..

I agree with those who say that it's a fresh story for them and they don't want a repeat of s1.... they liked anupre love story..imo every love story has takers....except for the imaginative made up stuff nothing great about the love story too..who will remember kzk2 ? Or would like to watch it again ? mata is confused as to what she should show..she can't change the basic foundation of this story..that anuprr will never be together but still keep loving each othrr

Well i have to disagree with your post on more points than agree.

1. All the success of Re boot that you mentioned are based on novels or epic stories like Mahabharat/ Ramayana are timeliness eternal studies with complex woven character..I will NO way compare even TV serial even Season 1 coming to any such complex characters not even Komo and Bajaj...They were then and even today staple TRP characters on ITV.

2. Even in epics no would come close to BR Chopra Mahabharat or Ramanand Sagar Ramayana because they were tightly made with excellence on all departments. Even Phoneix Tadd Joker is as per me not close to Ledger' JOker.

3. Only EK knows why she chose Kasauti reboot over other Saas Bahu may be Youth Love angle for this generation, any one can only guess

4. I am no fan of Season 1 and left after multiple marriage drama and after seeing this Season many are able to see alternate possibility of how even that season could have gone for A&P' love story although basic contour of them not uniting remaining same.

5.I think what makes most of people salty is that so called iconic character in Season 1 could neither get that popularity. Komo track did fetch TRP but character could NOT, Bajaj track actor did well but character and TRP both tanked. This has led to severe disappointment in fans of these characters.

6.Not that this was not done with leads A&P, their character have been butchered as well..Their fans have got used to it as well..

7. As far as actors are concerned, they have got employment, i do not think they may be seeing it in all this one sided way because it has opened door for new opportunities.

I think it would be better that more than a decade has passed and this season is looked in fresh light rather than constant comparison with Season 1. Those were different times and era.

Despite all this there is no denial this shows lacks good writing big time and drastic improvement can be done..If not that it will stutter and go.

The times are way different which is exactly why the kind of plot & characterization of leads make it all the more off putting. For those times, the characters were bearable & relatable to some extent. These ones don't even come close.

Prerna can not be called an empowered woman of modern era by any means. She was the base of season 1 but here she is not. Their love doesn't come out as love with last 4 months. The decisions they continue to nake on each other's behalf in the name of sacrifice is stupid. How does any one create a strong pair with weak individuals is beyond me? When even cinema is undergoing gradual shift, I don't see how this plot & characters are any better in this era, which are bad than the first one. It's not like this show won't repeat the endless cycle of misunderstanding forever.

And comparisons are abound because makers are still running this show in the shadows of the original one. So, it's literally impossible to see things in a completely new light because the reference remains the same.

Anurag was stupid for marrying Komo in this season. Prerna was all the more stupid to fight for him by all those claims of wife & what not. Prerna was again stupid to marry Bajaj just like that. And Anurag was stupid to continuously go after her.

I absolutely hate these 2 eternal lovers doing stupid sacrifices in the name of love which is toxic by all means. The whole Prerna marrying Bajaj to save Anurag track was way way better in season 1. I loved Anurag for respecting Prerna's decision to marry Bajaj after he came to know about it. He was heartbroken but he respected it. He wasn't spineless by doing this, it made him a better person, a better lover who knew to draw boundaries. While they were connected to each other emotionally, physically they maintained the respect for the real relationships between them

I loved Prerna giving Prem to Anurag & continuing a healthy relationship with Bajaj, his children, her own son, Anurag & Basus. This was way ahead of its time. There is nothing like that here in this season. It's all the more worse.

- Kasatuti was always about unrequited love - Prerna-Anurag, Prerna-Rishabh (he was always insecure about her love for Anurag), probably Anurag-Komolika in an obsessive way

Times are different yes. One cannot show the same. But I did expect them to incorporate a lot of modern factors into the story, using the underlying themes already present.

Why? Because S1 had a broad storyline and a strong one at that.

Why name it Kasauti and call it a reboot??? Ekta could've called it any other name and continued with her soulmates story.

Exactly. This modern day reboot has nothing modern in it. Maybe mobile phones or some technology. Even the modern day social elements are not there.
