SS: MAN OF STEEL ch 3 , pg 5 3/6

I ran towards the commotion , muffed cries could be heard in between the sounds of punching and falling of someone , a nerve racking sound of laughter can be heard every second . I halt my steps thinking one more time if I should go forward ,my shaking hands quite evidently telling the story of my non-existent courage . but still I want to deify its conclusion , I want to prove everyone wrong who think I am weak because I am not . I make my way in between the crowd , my short height , cute ten your old feminine face , with enlightening smile help me a lot in my way to reach the main reason of this atrocity .

My eyes fell on a fifteen year old fat boy who was crying miserably , his body trembling with fear as a much taller boy kicks him again and again while laughing mercilessly , how can someone be so cruel , i hate this bully . I myself had faced the burn of it but with girls it ends with calling names , spoiling dresses and hair pulling . thankfully i have never been on the opposite end much after that one incident thanks to my sister payal , she is a fighter unlike me .

A boy's groaning voice turn my attention to area where it has not travelled before setting my eyes on the bully and fat boy . he was well heighted , fair skinned , lean body , I cant see his face because his back was turned against me . I carefully try to hear what he was saying ,even though it was quite hardtop hear in loud and huge crowd of kids of my school gathered around though no one was trying to help or even call the teachers , but even I was doing the same, well all loves a little entertainment don't they? . he says the bully to stop hurting his friend otherwise consequences would not be good , the bully laughs at his words as if he has not threatened but mimicked johny lever .

The guy looks at him with burning range , his fist close tight making his knuckles turn white , heat radiating from his body but he makes no move to enact on his thoughts , its look liked he was trying to control himself as if he let go of his anger , he might burn the whole place down .the bully took come marching towards him and push him hard but the guy didn't moved a inch as if he was made of concrete .. no..no ..as if he is made of steel . the bully again tries with all his might to push the guy on the ground hard , this time to boy's bad luck he achieves his motives . the boy fell hard , his upper body lying on the steel wired fence of the school garden and half body lay on the dirty ground beneath , he don't even Vince in pain , just closed his eyes but I don't know why I felt it but I thought it was certainly not to absorb the pain , it was to control his anger.

Mean while the bully guy turned to find that the fat boy had ran away , bully again turns to the boy and slapped him , bully winced in pain for a second but dare he show it to all ,that could tarnish his image .he went away not even giving a second look to the boy . slowly crowd cleared , leaving the boy and me alone . why I was standing there , I myself can't understand , it was like as if a weird connection to the unknown boy was holding me in place .

I make my way to him to ask if he was all right ! stupid that question that might sound but it was the only way to start a conversation with this stranger . I take a deep breath and ask him he was ok ? . he opens his eyes instantly looking at me surprised , no one helped or even asked about someone's condition in Hard times , cruel words it is . I don't know how long but I kept on looking at his eyes , his eyes shade of grey -blue with a small light shinning in them as if his eyes resides millions of star within him . I had never seen such an enchanting eyes before . my eyes wanders to his face that holds a different aura that doesn't seem this worldly .

Our eye lock break as a new voice reaches our ears , I look to my right seeing a uncle who was calling the star-eyed boy . the boy stood up ran to probably his father , they sat on a bike and ride away , leaving me alone . the boy had looked at me back once before vanishing in the oblivion . his star eyes had starred something deep in me . my eyes wander back to the place he was a while back . to my surprise or shock whatever you want to take it as , the steel wired had braked as impact of his fall ,is it even possible or my small mind was playing games .

That boy and his eyes have never left me till date . I might have not meet him again after that incident but his eyes , his face , his memories have followed him every where. Why? A question that has remained still unanswered in my twenty year of life . who was he ? I might never no . this makes me restless , my nights spend in dreams of his eyes my day went in searching him in my surroundings .

"star -eyed boy eh! Your childhood fantasy has not left you yet has it? " lavanya s teasing voice make me come out of my dream land . I gave her a annoying look , she holds my every secret with in her but she never misses a chance to pull my leg . I shut down the computer that I have been writing my experience of meeting star eyed boy ,after years of nagging from lavanya that I wrote about it ,it might leave my system or I would end up writing a book , in better case both maybe .

"are you sure you want to go to cover mount Everest climbers this year , with continuous news of earthquake in the northern region , I don't think its worth the risk khushi ." lavanaya voice turns to serious in a second from her teasing tone , I am amused with her voice variations isn't that's why she is star news reporter of our channel .

"what a life without a little risk . death is the only constant thing in the world isn't it "my indirect reply make lavanaya look at me with worry , I just shrug and give her small smile in reaction to her worried face .i need to get my camera man NK , we need to leave in an hour , I make my way to boss's office . but I was wrong to think that lavanaya would leave me at that , she hold my wrist and gave me death glare while saying her true words .

"don't punish your self for what you didn't do . khushi live a little , don't run after death at every given chance " I remove her hand and take her in a tight hug and go away smiling and giving finally wink . how have I changed from a carefree , scared girl to a practical , risk taking courageous girl ? I don't know the answer my self . circumstances , conditions , people , situations, decisions, ambitions so many factors that influence the upbringing of a child , everything plays a little role in what you become . am I happy with it ? I don't know that either , reporting , writing news , finding people's stories , I love it but is with it I have lost my life . or that incident of past is still ruling my mind , making me weak , changing me to be different person . have I really changed ?
