Why do they always show Mrs. Iyer making and serving vadas at the drop of a hat! ..And today Mihika sending vadas to the court ..? seriously ?? ...
No south indian makes and eats vadas so often ...Vadas are mostly made at festivals and of course occasionally when one would feel like it ...But whenever they show Mrs. Iyer make something it is vadas or idlis or rassam ...very bad stereotyping ...
Ekta has filled this serial with so many irritating things that she thinks are stereotypical to south Indians ...barely any research into the actual south indian behavior and habits! ..
She also has now completely messed with the character sketch of Raman ... so not in keeping with his character thus far ...condoning and covering crimes ...crazy botch up ..
for some reason IshRa create such magic that i'm not able to leave the show despite its flaws and butchered characters...

stereotypying is so typical of hindi serials trust me.. whenever they show any show based on bengalis, they show all wearing dhotis and sarees worn in a weird way!!! haa.. i for one dont knw how to wear sari like tht also...n m bengali... not only ekta see any hindi serial.. they try to typecast characters according to the region they belong to..

If they are running out of ideas, I can give them some recipes. 😛😉 At least do a web search and get some ideas. Maybe the writers and producers love medhu vada. If they are so hung up on vads they can make variations of it, rasam vada and dahi vada (just dunking the vada). 😆

she takes one speciality of a caste and shows that as the hallmark

in Pavitra Rishta it was kande pohe , constantly everyone demanded kande pohe as if maharashtrians demanded no other dish

here it is medu vada , medu vadais r actually deep fried why will aged Amma Appa eat them all day long

similiarly in all serials showing rajasthani culture they show gatte ki sabji , as if rajastani cusine is only that .

i'm punjabi and i must admit i was starting to wondering if south indians eat anything else than idly/sambaar, and vadas😆 i even looked for it on google because i was confused to see the same meal over and over.

south indians aren't properly represented but on the other hand punjabis don't eat butterchicken and parathas at each meal.🤣

Raman had mattar paneer and some rice dish , his favorite. Toshiji is the one hung up on her son eating meat...she is concerned Raman will disappear eating all that gaas-phoos.😆

Idli/sambar, vada, dosa are tiffin dishes. Raman's favorite Rasam meri kasam 😆 is usually with rice at lunch/dinner.

and omg south indian cusine has so many varieties

what about showing for instance poriyals . or kootus . or adais . or mor kuzambhus . or lemon rice or tamarind rice or curry leaf rice which most likely would be taken to court .

I like vadas, even though they are fried, and therefore the vada overdose does not bother me. I agree that there are numerous things that the characters can be shown to eat. Perhaps this too will improve dramatically, just as Mrs. Iyer's tamil did??😆
