About confessing & proposing right away I've a weird finding

Coffee-waale scene Mehru was soft with him like expressing gratitude & he got nervous! But "i like you" was said when she returned his gift & "marry me" was when she gave him ultimatum whether he has to say something or should she hang up, as in her usual roasting tone gets him do stuff immediately!

In the last two situations he quite enjoyed the fact she was stunned & speechless!
