Naushervan was still a student right when all this happened...which means he too didn't have the kind of backing needed to reject Kashmala's marriage proposal. His parents too trapped him well by inviting all kinds of guests so that he would find it hard to say no.
Honestly, I feel sad for Naushervan and Farah...the way things ended...but you're right, she does need to move forward. I guess she isn't over the trauma even after all these years.
