Thanks, I looked it up. The character Farrukh wrote the book after retirement.
First episode was a BOMB ....HAISSAM HUSSAIN ....WHERE WERE U ALL THIS TIME....WE MISSED UR ACE DIRECTION
In the beginning it's written it's from a novel written by captain Farukh which the new actor TALHA is playing .....I m happy the writer Ali Moeen had a book to fall back on and the events are not all random
Anyways moving on....Wahaj is playing Rumi....he is one of Bds bravest freedom fighters.....it's a REAL character.....I loved how he mixed Urdu and Bangla yet his Bangla pronunciations were on point ....I loved his dialogues with Maya which wasn't shown to be anti pak but were kept real ....which was about Bengalis aka East Pakistan getting fair rights... FROZE WHEN HE SHOUTED JOY BANGLA IN THE END....THANK YOU SO MUCH WRITER AND DIRECTOR...I
Maya was given some very heavy dialogues which she delivered very eloquently and acted very well too...loved her wardrobe...it indeed looked like 1970s....loved her interactions with nadia Jameel...they were indeed looking like mother daughter.....god I m so happy to see nadia Jameel on screen on a good big show...
Adnan Jaffar is awesome as the police head....finally he got a good show
Last but not the least.....the new actor TALHA STOLE THE SHOW FOR ME.....the show started with him writing a letter to his mom...he mentioned dhanmondi market...I live at dhanmondi...lol ... and I was sold on the very first scene and his small interaction with Maya had so much chemistry... OMG...I liked how he is shown to be a neutral Pakistani police newly appointed in east Pakistan who doesn't have any ill thoughts and is honest enough to admit things aren't going well and is trying to find a way
Dhaka university was shown.....loved the song of Maya in yellow saari
In the opening credits , they also mentioned the key catalysts which led to the rebel....starting with the deadly 1970 cyclone where millions got washed away and Bd got no help and I m glad they mentioned the cyclone ....even though didn't mention how Bd wasnt given any help and international aid was also denied saying all was fine
They also wrote about the delayed national assembly as the Bengali leader won the election in 1971 as east Pakistan had more population ....that again ignited the rebel
I AM BEYOND AMAZED AFTER EPISODE 1
THANK U TEAM JO BICHAR GAYE
I made a mistake here
Talha is captain Farukh who wrote the book on which the show is based ....not Adnan Jaffar character
That means both Wahaj and Talhas characters are real
He got posted here from 1970 and he had a positive attitude and hence the show is not distorting history as far as the first episode is concerned

How did wahaj do for a non native Bengali speaker? I was reading comments and some people weren’t happy with the accent. I think it was on point, but then Bangla isn’t my language. What’s your say?
I’m glad you liked the Drama, I have said this before Abby, Pakistan realizes they didn’t handle east Pakistan well. We aren’t stubborn to admit. Bengali’s were and always be brothers to us. ❤️

Wahaj looked his part to the T
His Bangla was perfect and his Urdu had a Bangla accent which happens when the Bengalis try to speak Urdu ....HE EVEN GOT THAT RIGHT......I loved his attitude and wardrobe.....his fire inside which represented the fire inside the university students which roared together at that time and kept multiplying
One of the reasons east and west Pakistan cudnt exist is coz of the prominent cultural gap....we only had religion in common which wasn't enough
India and Pakistan has more cultural similarities than bd has with either of them
And one thing which was done wrong is looking down upon the Bengalis as lower leagues and the inferior one and oppressing in every way possible
That's the reason why things multiplied and eventually exploded in the war.....after the Bengalis were literally pushed to the wall on 25th march 1971 when the pakistani armies attacked out of nowhere at midnight and started killing people in Dhaka left right and centre and the next day 26th march Bd also announced war and hell broke loose
I m glad in Pakistan books they don't mention the 1971 war......instead of writing wrong info and whitewash Pakistan and blaming India only which khel khel mein did .....it's better not to mention in the books at all
As they say...half truth is even more dangerous
Coming back to the show....I liked how they have started showing from end of 1970.....when things started to build up......
I didn't like the get up make up of the other Bengali students with the tabeez on......we don't have tabeez culture here ....at least not so significantly.....
And I really really liked Maya and Nadia Jameel a look get up acting and characterization and dialogues
This is certainly going to be one intense show. The whole get up everything was so amazing.
Thank you Abby for all the dates etc. Did not know about the cyclone nor the attack and most of what happened. Via dramas I for one will certainly be educated.
I remember hearing somewhere how the mujibur rahman I think was very popular and win votes.
Finally something to watch with kids other then romance and mother in law sagas.
I truly appreciate pakstani dramas and more bengalis are watching them due to their reality based family appeal and quality. I'm sorry to say the bengali film industry is no where as good as Pakistan and the dramas are not as well made. Also maybe because bought up with bollywood etc its easier to understand urdu.
Although remember seeing a few good bengali dramas because of language barrier I haven't seen many in a long time.
It will truly be an interesting few weeks with so many shows coming up to do with this topic. Can't wait for the other one of khawab toot jatay hai which will be even more intense.
can I add on a side note I am disgusted by what hasina is doing in the name of democracy because she feels its her birthright to the country. It could be so much more which is why I'm not proud of the country. My country. Shes destroying the whole foundation of Islam there too .
It's like a war between two families and the whole country is falling backwards. I've heard she's doing some good to progress some areas but the ehe set up is iffy. Sorry if I offend anyone.
I really hope I don't offend anyone. Just feel strongly about the politics that I hear and I think her father would have been ashamed of her as I believe he stood for something completely different.
