Yesterday's episode was very satisfactory from an emotional standpoint. We have all become very attached to Usman and family, felt their humiliation and loss acutely and it was very heartwarming to see them get closure..
However, I cannot help but reflect that while the issue of rape was touched upon and how a legal process can be subverted, the solution so far does not address that..they may tackle in the next episode so I could be wrong..My observation looking at the writer's body of work, is that there is a strong focus on faith in god, faith resulting in victory for the truthful and righteous and loss for the wrongdoers, justice, importance of goodness and how that always pays off in the long run etc. This approach has worked very well in stories like Humsafar which revolve around human relationships but in a show like YKS the issues are beyond homes and enter the socio-legal realm ..one can always argue of course that the writer is depicting reality and the reality is that influential people get away.. however it is a little demotivating to see that even an influential legal family suffered, gave up fight and left as they could not achieve anything through legal means and when things were set right for them it was due to god
Even in Zubia's case, the approach has been similar. While I really liked seeing her father repent and realize his ungodly ways, repair his relationship with his daughter and accept that this is god's way of punishing him for his misdeeds...it does not touch upon the legal aspect at all..he committed a murder. Once again this is indicative of the writer's style as I mentioned above
