@mimi
Humayun isn't playing college boy anywhere

His last two shows dillagi n bin roye he played character of 35+ and it was also stated in the show

He didn't play just graduated guy having a galfriend girlfriend and looking for work

Agree he didn't play a 45 yr old as per his age but he didn't try to paint himself as a young lad either

N hence both the show looked so real

Otherwise every1 wud hv laughed at him

So I wud say it's very intelligent on Humayun part NOT to play young roles

Even in his movie JPNA he plays some1 of 35+

When I said he looks fresh n young I didn't mean I will accept him as a college going guy

I meant he doesn't look 45

And he didn't pair gals half his age with him either

I agree. Both performers are talented and experienced, and the audience is clearly ready to make concessions about their ages in order to watch them perform, as they should. After all, talent needs to be honed with experience. My only question is this: why are we not so irrevocably in love with female performers of similar experience, skill and age such as Samiya Mumtaz, Sania Saeed etc? Why are we not aghast when no one considers them for romantic leading parts opposite FQ or Humyun Saeed even though the latter has spoken fondly about his experience of working with Sania? Why don't we make a bigger deal about this? After all, this isn't the 80s or even the 90s when women were expected to play ornamental parts in television shows and movies while men did the "real performing". What is the point of discovering wonderful new talents like Navin Waqar, Kubra Khan, etc when in a matter of less than 10 years we will be only too happy to see them leave the leading parts for still-younger women, while I am sure we will still be as excited about the Zahid Ahmeds, Emma Irfanis and Bilal Abases. Navin, for example, is already 32ish. Does that mean I should prepare for her to be on her way out in another 5 years or so? Why? I mean, I have only just discovered her work. Why should we be made to part with our beloved female leading performers like that simply because they're older? If this continues, then the only way for an actress to be a leading lady for a decade or longer while still being of the "right age" would be if she skipped school, and university and dove right into the performing arts by the time she is 16-18 years old. I know a few younger actresses have started to do that but I don't really like this trend. I want actresses and actors to study, do to university, study the performing arts and liberal arts, before stepping into the world of television or film. I mean, if all 18 year olds jumped into working without studying any further, we'd be preparing an army of women in their 30s that are former leading ladies but have little to no schooling or formal education. Surely, we're not starting to second guess the importance of a sound formal education, including post-secondary degrees, for men and women regardless of whether those degrees are used to gain employment or not? Because if we are, then it is a sure sign of a deep regression, and that is a real shame.
PS- One of the things I like about Naveen is that she has been to college/university, and has taken her time to find her footing unlike someone like Hina Altaf (who I do like) who seems to have steeped right out of school into the performing arts. I am glad she is that enthusiastic but I think it would be nicer for her and her performances if she had stayed on in university. Education lends character to a person, and can impart good judgement. Surely these young performers are aware of that?

Jnam- couldn't have said it better. There are so many overload of young girls in Pakistani dramas with older men. Example Dil E Janam- Hina's being shown as the lead ( ie. she looks young and that's what the message that needs to be sent out - young girl equal lead heroine material) . While Zhalay been shown as the other woman ? I solely feel its her age compared to Hina that made her the other woman..
@ abby I have only seen one drama of Humayun, I agree he comes with heroines around his age but can he not give other heroes a chance? I honestly don't find him hero material...

FQ on the other hand rarely comes with girls his own age.. Another is Aijaz, and the list goes on... I feel there is an overload of talent less young girl , while talented girls due to their age is loosing out on roles.

This is just not in Pakistani dramas, same thing going on in Bollywood.

Jnam- how can these young girls concentrate on education, they know their lifeline in entertainment industry is limited hence they will rather jump in for the fame. This mindset in our society needs to change by give women the same lifeline that men are given in their career. Unless this changes, this cycle will be repeated. Its so sad but yet true.

@mimi...humayun is giving every1 chance
Hamza owes his career to Humayun as it was Humayun who was initially slated to play afzal but then Humayun thought it demanded a young guy but he didn't wanted to cast the regular tv heroes n played a gamble with Hamza and it created history

His production house keeps on launching new talent and also boost the old talent as well

So what do u actually mean by Humayun isn't giving other heroes chance

Whereas he is respected by the whole industry for his contribution in pak dramas ..films m celebs careers

Plus he is just one a few projects since last 5 yrs

All his production dramas hv other heroes

Even the latest beinteha with Sami n navin is produced by Humayun

Oh lord, looks like old man snatches young girl away from young boy...Where is sarwat
I hope its not the Madiha and Faisal Show...

@abby . Agreed he has given other people chances. Just saying its past his time and he should stop coming in romantic hero roles unless its age appropriate romance..:) And I am not saying this to just him... all these older men, they want to stay him the limelight and not looking at their age. Look at SRK and Salman, its disgusting watching them romance girls young enough to be their daughters.

What drives me more insane concepts like watching older man take away the young girl from another young boy in tv dramas/movies,etc. Slowly then the young girl falls in love with the older man.. ( That's not love in my opinion - one can develop fondness for a anyone through a period of time). Then, suspects his young wife of still loving their ex... HELLO!!!!! Old man you are the culprit here, you stole her away from her young lover and you suspect her !!

And we as an audience are accepting that, myself included :D

I am the happiest person that 2 of my favorite actors are coming togather in one drama. and it is a hate story.😉

Agree on Salman and SRK's part. but FQ is younger than both , and looks young too.😳

It is the same thing which happened in Bashar Momin, without the age factor. I hope FQ delever another lifetime performance.⭐️

And we as an audience are accepting that, myself included :D

So true. but it's only for drama and entertainment. we act differently in real life. we throw such men with chappals.😆
