Yes as a kid many times ... To eat Brun maska and omlette 😀....

My parents used to tell me often that this Irani restaurant ( I won't call it cafe coz the term didn't exist then ) was also a famous haunt of stalwarts in then theatre industry like Amol Palekar , Sudha karmarkar who would spend hours discussing scripts in the restaurant ...

As a kid particularly attractive were those Irani biscuits and khari biscuits kept in huge glass jars at the counter 😀

And ofcourse their trademark laddi pav ....laddi pav I m not sure if you understand what I mean but they are slabs of pav . Joint families on Sundays would order laddi pav to be had with mutton or chicken gravy on a Sunday 😀

also bun maska, omelette paav, irani chay. In Pune irani restaurants are still there and will continue to exist. Had irani chay and bun-muska few months back at cafe goodluck. There is irani cafe also in pune. In mumbai kingj circle there was kooler and co which was closed few years ago.

Booroom pav kay aahe ? i never heard of it probably. As mentioned in the article below - bentwood chairs and marble top tables are unique and common features in the Irani restos.

Did you know that there is a Bun - Maska and a Brun - Maska .. Bun maska is the soft pav ... Where as Brun maska is generally referred to the hard ( kadak ) pav....

The idea is to dip it in the tea to get that mixed flavour of sugary tea , salt and butter along with grainy soft bread 😀

Irani restaurants were also famous for kheema pav and raspberry soda drink .....

Nankhatai biscuit is originally a trademark Irani restaurant biscuit before every second bakery started selling it ....

Brun is the word and not booroom.

I mispronounced (I did as a kid😃 and that stuck)

Kheema pav with a thin layer of oil on top. 😆

Nankhatai with nuts and without.

@bold - that's an emotion which can't be described and can only be experienced 😃
