The name of Deception

A deception, betrayal, treachery, treason, and scam has a face like Shyam. Perfidy and dodgy character like him does exist in this society living among us with all the double cross game plans, hurting many, destroying many, and killing many by having blood in their hands.

We have many names for Shyam, like a snake, spidey, slimy, slither etc. He knew how to swindle and flimflam the opportunities in his favor and why not. He was a lawyer, after all. Dirty games and tricks were parts of his life. When we first met him, he seemed to be a decent, well-groomed, protected, well-mannered character but big-time deceiving. It was no coincidence that he bumped into Khushi Kumari Gupta in Lucknow. The question is, why was he there when Anjali was there? Arnav was cracking the biggest deal of his life, the biggest matter of his life, which changed his and Anjali's lives forever.

Was there a story of Shyam attached to all of this that we have no clue about?

Image

Let's say he was there to watch the assets Arnav bought for his sister, but it doesn't fit my brain. It seems his side of the story is hidden and incomplete. Then he saves Khushi, and we know he was behind this goon's set-up. How?... later, Arnav says to Khushi that if Shyam never had seen her in Lukhnow or in that video of her falling in Arnav's arms, then he won't be behind her and Anjali's wedding would be safe...

Shyam didn't leave any chance for Khushi to stay in Lukhnow and ensured she came to Delhi or ended up elsewhere but Lukhnow. How do we know that? He follows Khushi, finds her alone in the temple, and gives her his card. Even he Finds Khushi in the Delhi market and his dialogues are top-notch. "Akhir ye Khsuhi express Delhi pohnch hi gaye..." ... "Inhain Delhi Lane ke liye kitte jatan kiye " to the [ Vegetables] vender...He was always in pursuit of Khsuhi. When she called him for the job, he found a spot in the AR warehouse, away from Arnav. He thought she hated him and had no idea how she and Arnav's relationship was developing behind his back. That was the beauty of IPK. โค๏ธ

Shyam manipulates Khushi's Buaji, becomes a paying guest, and plays her son's role very well. Shyam develops a friendship with Khushi and tries to woe her by all means. We found out that Shyam is actually married to Anjali...ASR's life.

From this point on, we see him as a two-timer. His first near escape was on his wedding anniversary when he saw Khushi and understood why she was there. The contract she got was his anniversary... the one he helped Khushi to make sweets for.๐Ÿ˜†

Khushi's family was unaware of Shyam's deception. When Shyam's efforts to impress Khushi become futile, he tries to impress Buaji so that she thinks of him as an eligible groom for Khushi.๐Ÿ˜† Khushi's father always has negative thoughts about Shyam, and after Buaji's constant pushing him to say yes to Shyam, Shashi ji becomes more suspicious of Shyam. He followed him around to learn more about him. When he discovers the truth, Shyam brings him to a heart attack almost... Shashi became paralyzed and couldn't speak as well... Shyam uses this as an opportunity to force Khushi to say yes to their marriage. He became successful and had an engagement, but he got trapped in another web.

Payal and Akash's wedding. What on earth? He never thought of that, but no matter how much he ran away, Khushi finally found the connection between Rani Sahiba and Shyam; he was her husband...

His first slap towards reality and fears caught up in his neck. What will happen if Raizadas finds out and here, he plays chisel schemes and has mind games with the Gupta family over Payal's wedding. He puts his head down until he makes sure that Gupta family won't disclose his identity. His true colors come out again on Sangeet night when he tortures Khushi...and from that point on, he tries to kill Anjali to get Khushi back. Such a stupid he was. He wanted the money and the honey. The true colors of his deceitful actions and words were at their peak, and there was no difference in between him and that scorpion he brought to kill Anjali. I so wished Anjali had never removed it from his back.

His first slap was seeing Arnav and Khushi and their mutual interest during that night. That was a shocking moment, and after seeing them dancing together, he lost his cool. Even when NK mentioned how beautiful Arnav and Khushi looked together on stage, he completely lost his mind and yelled at him.

Unfortunately, Arnav misunderstands Khushi after seeing her in Shyam's arms on the terrace. He thinks that Khushi and Shyam are having an affair and decides to marry Khushi to save his sister's marriage. Khushi tries her best to prove her loyalty, but once again, Shyam makes Arnav think that Khushi is with him, not with Arnav, and things go in his favor. But it wasn't like that at all. Now Khushi was Arnav's wife who was her protector no matter what...Even Arnav discloses his reasons for marrying Khushi, and she tries to tell him all about Shyam, Arnav doesn't believe it and flies to London...

Arnav finally finds out that Shyam is that snake who kidnapped Arnav and held him captive for months from Khushi and NK's revelations. This time Arnav gives him a true tight slap for deceiving his sister first and then for disrespecting his wife.

Well deserved!๐Ÿ‘

Shyam used Anjali and this pregnancy to be in Shantivan as always. Whenever there was any discussion to have your own place to take Anjali with him, he created such situations that Anjali had to be in Raizada Mansion. The family's overprotective nature towards Anjali always went in his favor.

Of course, Shyam Manohar Jha would never accept defeat so quickly even after being thrown out of Shantivan. Shyam uses Anjali's pregnancy as an excuse to regain entry into the Raizada house but this time through Dadi. But this time Anjali faced a more significant loss with the family. Her child...๐Ÿ˜ญ

Shyam Manohar Jha killed his own unborn child. He was a bloody murderer.

The recreancy of his character comes out in the light when he reaches the hospital to play a sympathy card. His child was dead because he was not there with Anjali. Arnav punched the crap out of him but Anjali's stubbornness and Shyam's games played a big role in making him back in the Mansion. This time Khushi went against Arnav to bring him back for Anjali.

After re-entering the Raizada Mansion, he instigates Dadiji to break up Arnav and Khushi for good. Here the past of Khsuhi, her Amma's relationship with Arnav's dad, played a role... Shyam was a true imposter in bringing out this case to the light.

But after all this, Arnav and Khushi overcame every hurdle and married. Dadli left them again as she did fourteen years ago.

Seeing Anjali's deep faith in Shyam, Khushi and Arnav make other plans to bring his true colors in front of Anjali.Arnav, Khushi and NK finally reveal Shyam's horrific atrocities to Anjali... After discovering he was behind her child's death, she slaps him and vows never to see his face again.

Finally, Shyam was out of the picture, and everyone in the Raizada and Gupta families could live their lives peacefully. What a strong, iconic, and hateful villain we had...Hats off to Abhas Mehta for making us hate him as Shyam. He won the Best Villain award for this character.smiley32

. The way Shyam manipulated everyone around him was a new and totally different concept twelve years ago. Mostly Vamps had such characters and in different ways.... This guy had his rich wife wrapped around his finger to do whatever in his life! Not only that, he even had Naniji, Mamiji, Buaji and later Dadiji entirely under his control. Also, how he emotionally tortured Khushi and messed up her character and life, developing a relationship with cunning Arnav, makes him especially devious. Arnav couldn't figure him out at all... Anjali's blind faith made him resourceful too.

He was a cupid in Arshi's case; and we love our spidey, snake, slimy slithery Shyam...Well, Done!...

My fav slaps

I love this gif, his entry, his walk, his face movement, focused eyes, and at the top that blue bracelet.๐Ÿ‘

Well written, men like him are among us, and no matter how much we deny this fact but we women are the ones who empowered them to get away with such atrocities they carry around. Nice question, why was he in Lukhnow? As Nani and her family mentioned many times that he used to go on tours for weeks and months, but no one paid attention to where and why? He was a lawyer, not a businessman. Maybe he was from Lukhnow, maybe he went there with bad intentions to do damage to Arnav and ended up in Khushi's business.

He brought Khushi back to Delhi and he seemed awkward right during that fight and the way he was talking to Shashi and even with those goons, seems totally a stage kinda thing. Then he was following Khushi in Delhi too. Excellent observation with dialogues you have here what Shyam said to Khushi in that market.

He was a two-timer and at the top a goon himself. Anjali's blind faith and stubbornness brought all into his web and at his mercy. Mamiji was sharp and understood him way earlier than anyone else. She kept warning Anjali but Anjali never paid attention.

Whenever the talk to moving out of RM came out he started messing up with Anjali's health. He made her fall down from stairs before too by putting oil under her shoes so Nani and everyone could keep her in RM.

The lines were crossed when he killed the child and this time he was successful in making Anji fall downstairs. Still, she was calling him and his plans never got seized. I was so happy when Anji finally knew the whole picture.

Lovely analysis,๐Ÿ‘ Abhas really did an awesome job for us to hate him.

Thank you for adding all for him in this summary. Deception, betrayal, scam and all this evil words seem small for him. Abhas really did so well that we hate Shyam so much.

He was such a good villain๐Ÿ‘

He saw khushi inArnav's arms and got Khushi in trouble. He created circumstances and brought her in Delhi yet got her a job for at AR Very smart, one step closer to Arnav.๐Ÿ˜†He introduced Khushi to the idea of dhak-dhak and that made sense to Khushi that it does because of Arnav. He called Khushi to the terrace and Arnav found them. Was this his scheme? Could be? To create a rift as he wrote that message for Khushi but how did Arnav find it?

Later, He instigated Arnav by lying to him about the nature of his relationship to Khushi but he made a mistake by calling Rani Sahiba a hurdle in between them. That infuriated Arnav and he got the biggest threat and enemy in ASR. At the top Arnav took Khushi away by marrying her.

Again, He was the one who didn't show up at the airport to help Khushi prove her truth, so Arnav left with MU. Yet Shyam had no idea that Arnav decided to turn around and that on his own will and power of love which Arnav and Khushi both had...

Shyam kidnapped Arnav, which brought Arnav and Khushi together and became the reason for diminishing the MU. Khushi admitted her love for Arnav to Shyam and that brought an animal in him and he was ready to kill her. If she is not his then Arnav won't have either.

He called Dadi to destroy Khushi and Arnav's relationship but it made Arnav and Khushi wedding possible and finally they became one. So all is all he was a cupid๐Ÿคฃ

Lovely memory lane of Shyam Manohar Jha. Just wondering what kinda Psychopath was he?

Shyam was a cupid, no doubt. He became the reason to bring Arshi together at every step. His unawareness of Arshi's relationship was the key and major milestone of IPK. If he knew before things would be different.

A name of deception, here you go. You said it all.

His face was hidden as a con artist as the faceless villain, requires only a look under the mask to understand everything.A situation where a Story Arc contains a Big Bad whose identity is not known until much later and even later you don't see everything because we have to leverage hero and a villain. As far as I can see, in the beginning Shyam seems like a hero of Khushi who was nice to her and her family until Khushi's father found his identity, a true face and here the problem starts.

There are rules to create a powerful Antagonist, give him/her a powerful objective, make him/her more powerful than protagonist and equip the villain with an unforgettable look. At the same time a strong villain wants power, wealth, and revenge.I think we have all these in Shyam.

Shyam had no redeeming qualities. He was evil, sneaky, cowardly, egotistical, clever, crazy, callous, and hypocritical. His wicked character enacted evil actions to harm others and nothing much. Even he did the same after Khushi declared her love for Arnav to him. Even then he was saying I love you so much Khushi. God dammit!

Now why the creators didn't explore him? Well, I think the way he was displayed as a villain, no one wanted any sympathy cards on the table for him. A freeloader like him had to be at the pedestal with Barnacle. leech. moocher and parasite. That all could vanish by bringing his past story, at least this is what I think.

Now what was he doing in Lukhnow? Hmm, maybe he was from there? or Maybe he was ready to harm Arnav then as well to get all of his wealth. He did it later too and when he saw Khushi his mind took over for this beauty and he wanted her for himself rather than anyone else. That became his priority at the moment. There could be million speculations we can have.

A beautiful post and a memory lane.๐Ÿ‘

Wow Covi, what a strong piece you have here. All this red is simply awesome. Shyam was true villain, there was no need to know his other side why was he like this or whay was he doing all of this. That exploration could make us think differently about him. We could have soft corner, you are right. Nice thoughts.

Hitting can induce immediate gratification for rageful, pent-up feelings, enticing the hitter to do it again and in Arnav's case it was all that pent up rage over the time. While Khushi's anger and shutting him off right away after throwing his ring on his face. It was over.

Oh, arnav's thapad was so satisfying after hearing him throwing all garbage toward Khushi๐Ÿ˜ˆ
