Sunrisers Hyderabad Look to Seal Playoff Spot

Another win will be enough for the Sunrisers to seal a playoff berth as they need only one point to ensure qualification. But the Pat Cummins-led side will also want to challenge for the top two spots, which is a possibility considering they have one more game after this match and a healthy net run rate of +0.406. SRH has 14 points from 12 matches and can reach a maximum of 18 points, which may be enough to ensure a top-two finish if other results go their way.

Rain to Play Spoilsport?

It is currently raining at Hyderabad which is not a good sign for the SRH fans and the side as they would have ideally looked to play the game against GT and a win would mean that they have confirmed their spot in the playoffs.

Pat Cummins the bowler

Every now and then, the world needs to be reminded, that Cummins is really good at this hip thing called fast bowling. Cummins the skipper must be held accountable. It’s not like he isn’t considered among the greatest bowlers of this generation anymore, but it is during the coronation of a fine cricketing leader that the pacer has been flagrantly overlooked

Gujarat Titans have the worst run-rate in the powerplay of 7.7. KL Rahul's LSG are above GT with run rate of 8.3 in the first six overs. Hosts SRH have the best run rate in the powerplay this season. Thus, SRH are set to meet GT in a clash of two contrasting batting units.

SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have laid the foundations for multiple 200-plus totals this season. The SRH openers also made a mockery of the run chase against Lucknow Super Giants. The SRH openers have smashed 309 runs in 127 balls. With a strike rate of 243.3, SRH openers will look to give Hyderabad another promising start against the Titans.

18:30 Local Time, 13:00 GMT: We are five games away from finishing the league stage and there are still two playoff spots up for grabs. Today's game will have a lot of viewers as the result will determine the fate of some of the other teams. A win today for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and they become the third team to book a spot in the top four. A loss will keep the likes of Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the hunt. So a lot at stake and that is not something new for skipper Pat Cummins. He has led this team brilliantly and hence they have the future in their own hands. The openers - Head and Abhishek - have been a revelation, Klaasen has stamped his mark as the spin basher and Nitish Reddy is the find of the season. The bowling too looks more penetrative with the return to form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. What's more the Sunrisers are playing at home and will have their Orange Army behind them as they look to seal the playoff spot.

Gujarat Titans have had a forgettable campaign. After winning the tournament in their first year and finishing runner's up last season, they have not lived up to their potential. Shubman Gill as captain has been under pressure and that has shown in his batting as he's not been able to replicate the performances he put up last year. There's over-reliance on Gill and Sai Sudharsan to deliver each time with the bat as the rest have struggled for consistency. Rashid Khan, coming back from an injury, has looked a shadow of his old self and that has played a big part to where the Titans are on the points table. There has been a lot of changing and chopping as they couldn't find the right combination. But they did beat CSK a couple of games back while their previous game against KKR was abandoned, today gives them a chance to finish their season on a high.

Everyone wants to finish the season on a high note.

Abhee tak so rahe the kya?

Cheers..
