Noor Ahmed and Rashid Khan have formed a formidable pairing in the middle overs this season for the Titans. The pairing as a combination has picked up 37 wickets in the season. After facing the fiery spell of Shami in the Powerplay facing these leggies has been a thorn in the flesh to any opposition throughout the season.

GT’s star batter Shubman Gill who has accumulated 851 runs this season, is third on the all-time list of batters with the most runs in an IPL season. He is just 13 runs away from overtaking Jos Buttler. But to break Virat Kohli’s record of 973 runs in an IPL season in 2016, Gill needs to score 123 more runs.

Records MS Dhoni can break today

MS Dhoni, captain of CSK and one of the greatest batters in the tournament’s history, will be looking to lead his team to victory in the final. This will be CSK’s 10th appearance in the final, and if they manage to win it, then they will be level with Rohit Sharma, who have five titles. Further, when Dhoni takes the field against GT, he will become the first player to play 250 matches in IPL.

Will Gill surpass Virat Kohli

GT’s star batter Shubman Gill who has accumulated 851 runs this season, is third on the all-time list of batters with the most runs in an IPL season. Will Shankar come ahead of Pandya at 3?

When it comes to going after large totals, GT’s middle-order seems to have incredible potential with players like David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, and Vijay Shankar in their lineup. Miller and Tewatia haven’t had many chances this season, but Vijay has had a stellar season, scoring 301 runs in 13 games with three half-centuries, and is most likely to bat number three in the championship game.

Hardik's poor form

Hardik – who has batted at three for a big part of the competition – has struggled to make an impact with the bat either. He has scored 297 runs at 27 with a strike rate of 130.26, and he bowled a couple of overs against Mumbai Indians but did not look in good rhythm.

Gt's perks at home

It will already be advantageous for them to play the final in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium in front of a potential 100,000 fans. On top of that, the Titans have the team, particularly the bowling attack, for all types of playing surfaces. Titans organised three preseason camps under head coach Ashish Nehra before the commencement of the season to prepare for the competition. To put it briefly, everything is in place to do a repeat in their second season in IPL.

Will MS Dhoni bat up the order?

This could be the last time that Chennai fans will witness their beloved “Thala” batting. In the World Cup final of 2011, when the pressure was on the team, Dhoni promoted himself up the order. He might do it again today and finish things off in style. However, for the last few seasons, his decline as a finisher has been sharp. Despite that, this season he gave glimpses of what he can do from time to time. Against Rajasthan Royals while chasing 176, he almost pulled off the chase with a blistering 17-ball 32. The approach in his batting also has been notable: he used to take his time early on in the previous campaigns, but this season, he has been trying to go after the bowling from ball one.
