FOURTEEN (14) YEARS LATER
Maan was extremely restless as he will meet his Geet today after 14yrs. In these 14yrs., despite of trying he could not meet Geet. First three years he came during his summer vacations and just happen to just catch a glimpse of his doll when she passed by. As during day she was in school and in evening Geet use to go for her dance classes. Once Maan entered Grade IX, pressure of academics left no opportunity for him to come to Delhi. Therefore during one of his summer vacations, Thakur Harshvardhan, Savitri Devi and Vicky came to Manali to spend time with Maan. Due to work pressure, Ram could not come, therefore Vaidehi had to stay back in Delhi. Once Maan's schooling was over, he immediately went for graduation in Architecture to US
and later did his MBA in US as well, hence, he was unable to come to Delhi. Later during his vacations he was either doing internship or training in some Construction Companies in US.
After his post graduation he was working in a US company for 4-5 years to gain work experience.
Meanwhile in these 14yrs., Geet first finished her primary schooling in Delhi and then shifted to boarding school in Mussoorie at age of 9yrs.; then she did her "arangetram" (graduation in bharatnatyam dance) when she was home for summer vacations;
she also learnt classical music so that she can stop thinking about "Her Maanu" all the time. When once Geet heard Vicky saying that Maan is black belt in Karate, she started learning Karate as well. Geet had interest in cooking hence she learnt cooking both in UP style cuisine from her grandmother, Sushma Rani and Punjabi style cuisine from Vaidehi. Geet now knew how to cook all Maan's favourite dishes.
Maan was on his way back home from airport when few blocks away from his home, driver Raghuveer turned car into a secluded alley in order to avoid heavy traffic on the main road. The black Mercedes had just crossed halfway when it came across a young girl surrounded by 4 ruffians. Before Maan could get down and give the young girl a helping hand, the four ruffians had dropped down on the dusty road. The girl turned but her face was covered with her dupatta leaving only her eyes visible.
But Maan was too far to see her eyes. Just then driver Raghuveer yelled, "Geet betiya chaliye hum aapko ghar chodh dein." (Geet, my child let me drop you home.) But the girl waved him off sat on her scooty and rode with her two friends towards a narrow pathway which was inaccessible by car.
Hearing Geet's name, Maan at once got alert looked out to catch a glimpse of His Geet, but again Geet had vanished before Maan could get out of the car.
Maan reached main entrance of Khurana Mansion to be welcomed by his grandmother and mother carrying aarti thali. After doing Maan's aarti and tilaak, Maan entered his home. After meeting everyone and exchanging pleasantries, Maan decided to go to his room to rest as he was very tired. He took shower and was sitting with a cup of black coffee in his room's balcony
and enjoying the sudden unexpected rain when he heard a melodious voice coming from room bang opposite his room from their next door neighbour, Shekhawat's mansion.
"O Sajna barkha bahaar aayee..."

The song finished but he couldn't see who was singing. He craned his neck but he still couldn't see the owner of the female voice. Just then Vaidehi came to the balcony. Seeing Maan preoccupied, Vaidehi asked, "Kya hua beta? Tum bade khoye-khoye lag rahe ho?" (What happened Maan? You are looking disoriented.)
"Maa, abhi maine ek bahut melodious voice sunni. Kaun gaa raha thaa? Shekhawat uncle ke ghar mein toh koi ladki nahi thee?" (Maa,I just now heard an extremely melodious voice. Who was singing? Shekhawat uncle does not have any girl in his family.)
"Woh ghar abb Shekhawats ka nahi abb Thakur Vidyasagar Pandey ka hai. Aur gaana Geet gaa rahi thee." (That bunglow no longer belongs to Shekhawats. It now belongs to Thakur Vidyasagar Pandey. The person singing was Geet.)
"Kya? Geet gaati hai?" (What? Geet sings?)
"Haan. Abb Geet unnees (19) saal ki ho gayi hai tumne toh usse dekha thaa jab woh bahut choti thee. Patta nahi waqt kaise beeta, kabhi kabhi lagta hai ki Thakur sahaab aur unka parivaar abhi-abhi toh Delhi aaye the. Magar samay kissi ke liye nahi rukta. Veer toh abb Vidyasagar Textile Industries ka MD hai aur kuch saalon mein woh CEO bhi bann jaayega aur uske baad Geet ki shaadi bhi ho jaayegi. Accha chalo Bauji's tumhara khaane ke liye intezaar kar rahe hain." (Yes. Geet is now 19yrs. old. When you had last seen her she was very young. How time flies! It feels that it was only sometime back that Thakur sahaab and his family moved to Delhi. But time stops for no one. Can you believe that Veer has already become MD of Vidyasagar Textile Industries and soon he will become CEO. After that Geet will also get married. Come let's go downstairs, your grandfather is waiting for you for dinner.)
"Maa, I'm not hungry but extremely sleepy. I'll eat later." Maan said getting into his bed. Maan's hunger disappeared the moment he heard his mother mentioning about Geet's marriage.
"Beta, kuch toh..." (Son, have som...)
"Choti malkin, bade malik aapko aur Maan baba ko bula rahe hain." (Ma'am, Senior Sir is calling you and Maan Sir.) Nakul came carrying a tray of food. Getting message from Nakul, Vaidehi hurried downstairs. Once Nakul was sure that Vaidehi has left, he put the tray of food on the coffee table and said, "Maan baba, yeh aapke liye saamne ke ghar se aaya hai." (Maan Sir, this has been sent for you from the bungalow opposite to us.)
"Kya hai?" (What is it?)
"Cr...Malai aur Khumb ka pasta"
"Creamy Mushroom Pasta." Maan translated looking at the dish.
"Haan wohi. Geet betiya ne aap ke liye banna kar bheja hai." (Yes. Geet baby has cooked it and sent for you.) Nakul said staring at the direction towards left of Maan's room in their next door neighbour's mansion, the room was bang opposite Maan's room. Maan quitely got out of the bed and quickly went and looked where Nakul was looking and the person immediately hid behind wooden screen.
"Kaka, aap jaayiye mai thodi der baad khaa loonga, mujhe abhi bhook nahi." (Nakul you leave it on the table, I'll have after sometime.)
"Magar...Ji baba." (But...Alright Sir.) Nakul politely withdrew.
