The educational system in USA very much fails in providing a good knowledge of the recent history. As for the "own best interest", I suppose, that there are far too many who only voted for their own interest - regardless if it is the best.

I don't know if there will be an evaluation of what kind of people voted for Trump...I think it would be interesting.

Bidens unpopularity and incompetence ( and was main reason and independent voters want someone like Bernie sanders( though socialist) was more popular and could have gotten younger voters to vote this ticket over Kamla because she was just taking Bidens place and whatever resentment he had it was in her too. Then her being a woman weighed in and her choices esp on who she chose as VP( had she chosen the popular PA Governor she would have gotten the swing state and possibly others. Most Americans don’t care much on policies with other countries unless it personally has todo with them. they care more in what is personally happening to them that’s why Obama one over bush in landslide because Americans weren’t satisfied with things at home. The Republicans to could not endorse a decent candidate because those who believe in tax cuts and better opportunities should have selected a better candidate but uneducated white Americans and this time surprisingly minority Latino voters voted republican that shows how poorly Bidens legacy is. Biden at the chance to improve things but he didn’t. He didn’t help with student loans which was huge thing why younger voters voted democratic last time and minorities voted because they thought he would do something to help with the economy.

As stated I don’t align with any party and vote with whom I think will in my opinion be the better candidate and as well will help what suits my agenda ( others think this way too)

those who didn’t like either candidate which I will say is reason on this turn out in my opinion simply did not vote !! During Covid the turn out was high because Covid wasn’t handled well. Post Covid things didn’t change and instead we have high inflation and Biden who I think was too old on handling the position and his choices hurt voters sentiments.

He actually called out for Arab Americans. Muslims probably had anger against Democrats on how the Palestine issue was handled and how Israel was given a free hand, not that Trump will do any better, but then they expected from Democrats

Those who may not know Trump the longest time was registered democrat he changed when he started to have aspirations on joining politics and thought that getting the Republican ticket over democratic would be easier. My point is he don’t have political believes he just believes in what best suits him. I mean when it was his time to concede when it was clear on who the winner was during Covid he didn’t. He didn’t even want tp leave the White House. As stated he’s a reality tv star n entertainer. I have seen his reality shows and u can tell he just does what suits him.

Politicians also should know new voters matter esp younger voters. When Hillary was running those who thought that time both candidates were useless didn’t vote that too is a problem some who don’t care don’t even know there was an election even lol and had to de reminded that in case they want to vote they should. Older ones most will vote by habit. The main thing is the democrats took granted on those who voted them during Covid and didn’t live up to promises that the senators in house promised. Biden didn’t do what students wanted canceling loans or reducing them not to just some select group but everyone naturally that group upset. Then increase in housing and so many other things.

Both cannot handle crisis.
