What to expect: Many more runs than scored so far on the drop-in pitches here in NY. If India were to bat first, a healthy total of over 160 is an eminent possibility with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other Indian batters looking for runs. The match will also be a test for the USA team as they will be up against a mighty opposition.

The USA team has been riding high in the World Cup with two wins in two games. It has lived up to its pre-tournament claims of "eating" any opposition that comes on its way. They lived up to the words by beating Pakistan who came their way. But they could be in for a serious reality check on Wednesday.

Up next will be India, who could be a different beast. Upsets in Twenty20 are commonplace but this Indian team looks virtually fail-proof. On Wednesday, they will look to end the New York leg of the World Cup with a clean slate. The US team, which has never faced India in any format, will be up against a side that is full of IPL and T20 veterans.

More than the challenges posed by Monank Patel and his team, India have a few loose ends to address as they appear poised to enter the tougher phase of the competition. A concern before them is the finishing abilities of Ravindra Jadeja. A strong performance from him could be pivotal, especially in the match against the hosts. It could go a long way as India require Jadeja to be at his all-round his best form for the latter stages of the World Cup.

Hardik Pandya has been consistently effective with his bowling and has proven to be a reliable ally for Rohit. However, his performance with the bat against Pakistan, especially considering his reputation for excelling under intense pressure, fell short of expectations. A strong batting display from him is essential to regain his confidence.

Shivam Dube, against Pakistan on Sunday, faced the kind of pressure that is unfamiliar to him. It reflected in his performance and it is crucial for the all-rounder to quickly adapt and learn from the experience, particularly since India will rely on his left-handed batting skills and six-hitting abilities to counter opponents like Adam Zampa in the upcoming matches.

Virat Kohli's consecutive failures may not necessarily be a cause for concern. Given the quality that he brings to the team, a significant innings from him could just be around the corner, possibly on Wednesday itself. His partnership with Rohit Sharma at the top of the order is set to persist, potentially keeping Yashasvi Jaiswal on the bench.

The fact that a talented player like Jaiswal isn't featuring in the playing XI speaks volumes about the depth and strength of this Indian team. It would take a remarkable effort for the USA to replicate their surprise victory over Pakistan against a team of India's caliber. But then T20 games can be strange, sometimes.
