Sanjay Suri's boys in blue

Thursday, February 22, 2007

What if our real cricket heroes can't bring the glory back to the game, Sanjay Suri will definitely succeed in his mission to do so. His next celluloid venture, Say Salaam India - Lets Bring the Cup Home not just revolves around the spirit of the game, but also hopefully serve as an inspiration to Team India in the Caribbean islands.

In the movie, Sanjay plays the role of a school team coach who's trying to live life on his own ideas and values. The film also stars Sandhya Mridul, Manoj Pahwa, Sachin Khedekar, Vinay Pathak, Shradha Nigam and Ojas and is written and directed by debutant Subhash Kapoor. It has music by Gaurav Dayal.

Say Salaam India - Lets Bring the Cup Home revolves around the character of Sanjay, an under-16 cricket coach, and his trials and tribulations. Talking about his movie, Sanjay says, "A theme involving the underdog winning in the end always works for sports-based films, particularly in India".

We do agree with you, but Sanjay didn't your last film My Brother Nikhil too was based on sports? Despite this, it didn't score well on the box-office. Or was the weather not conducive for the game?

Whatever the case maybe, we sincerely hope that this movie hits a sixer since the weather at the time of its release, which is around the ICC World Cup, would definitely help you win the match.
