Btw I never got the vibe that she was ever 'cornered' by the industry. I am not denying the fact that she had to struggle in her career, but she worked with all the BIG stars and directors in BW and she rather got better roles and opportunities than her contemporaries.

She is one of the first few actresses who didn't get 'replaced' in the sequels of male-dominated films (Don2 and Krrish 3), which is usually the norm.

She has always been treated as an A-lister, and she has made a decent name for herself in Hollywood film and American Television as well. That's one of an achievement in itself. She should rather be thankful and gratefull.

It would've made sense if Lara Dutta said this. She was Priyanka's contemporary and got truly 'sidelined' and cornered by the industry, despite being an equally good actress.

I love lara dutta but this has to be the biggest joke..lara paled in comparison in their first movie itself..when she couldn't even dub for herself and despite her being the lead, PC made a much bigger impact.. what followed later we all know..lara dutta hardly gave a performance which could even come close to any of PC's performances..PC was mad talented and this comes from someone who is not even a fan tbh!

The only logical difference here is that he’s of more value to the industry…..so if there was a time to choose between two assholes the industry will chose the asshole that is making them more money…

I don’t believe pc was a victim here that needed everyone’s support …the fact that she was treated badly while srk got away for the same mistake is more a consequence srk being the one with more net worth rather than him being the male …..I mean had she done this with shahid when he’s married, I highly doubt she’d have faced as dire a consequence

Rani was rumoured to be with govindha while he was married and his wife being insecure …her career never took a hit coz of that coz in the early 2000s….govinda was fading away and rani was rising and was in company of far more clout …(adi, srk, kjo)

In the whole aishwarya Salman Vivek scenario, the one with the least net worth and clout (Vivek) got bolstered …aishwarya suffered but did manage to get work during that time coz she was worth a lot more in the industry compared to Vivek …whereas Salman remained unaffected coz he was the biggest star of the three despite the fact that he was most at fault )

I am surprised at the sheer unity industry has even among rivals. Like for eg, all Khans stopped working with Ash after that fiasco on Chalte chalte sets while no one banned Salman who created ruckus. And all A listers began to avoid PC and she was left to make do with Shahid or newbies like Ranbir, Ranveer or offbeat films. And Vivek was forced to do side roles in regional films.

This gang mentality does deserve to be called out.

I mean why not break up and leave it instead of ensuring other guy or girl gets no work and is ousted from big banners, big star films and media slanders him or her and they lose even big brands and endorsements?

Earlier women like Parkash Kaur tolerated because they were uneducated, jobless and married off too soon so they were dependent entirely on husband for survival and were old school and accepted affairs and second marriage of husband as fate or karma.

Today Gauri or Twinkle are not helpless or uneducated or jobless. But they prefer easy path to enjoy luxury while husband does gulu gulu with other women.

Very few take hard path that Amrita, Babita, Kiran, Reena, Dimple, Malaika, Suzanne and Lolo did and they hesitate to work hard to sustain self like these women did post divorce. Nor do they want to raise kids alone or find a new guy like Suzanne did.

They are okay with the status quo as long as their high profile lifestyle continues like Jaya B who still considers self as some First Lady of Bollywood.

Kids or family reputation or patience or sacifice for pati parmeshwar are just a joke.

I do not think DP and her break up should be equated to SRK and PC thing because honestly she was not married to Ranbir. These things are not taken seriously in India the way marriage is.

Also Ranbir never held as much power in industry and among masses as SRK or any of 3 Khans does. So comparison is not fair and DP continued to get work and neither she nor RK suffered or had anyone gang against them.
