Everything else aside

HAHK is start to finish entertainment with no dull moments in between except for the last 20 minutes after Renuka's death... for 3 hour 10 minutes it is a non stop entertainment with all of the great songs and utmost interesting light scenes throughout the movie...thats the reason people watched it so so many times during its 5 years run, and thats the reason why it did almost DOUBLE of the business of ddlj

While in DDLJ there was a lot more melodrama, rona dhona , R-Rona and all the sobbing involved throughout the film...I wonder how people will get entertain again and again by a lot of intense drama and rona dhona which took a major screen time of ddlj... it has also lots of light entertaining moments but hahk has almost double of it.

I personally find DDLJ totally boring whenever Kajol's shitty family and village are shown. Only Switzerland part is bearable. HAHK has an understanding family whereas Amrish Puri is totally unbearable, regressive, dominating dad and I think we have seen enough of such crap relatives in real life to put up with one more such loser onscreen.

HAHK atleast has an understanding family and no overbearing parents breathing down neck of kids. They understand their kids and their kids understand them right back. It is mutual. No force or pressure and no drama either why Madhuri wrote that letter or marriage is fixed now, whatever is done is done etc.

I cannot stand Kajol's family and village in DDLJ.

Even the VILLAGE was a PAINTING which the director shown outside her room' window 🤪

even the whole shaadi and shaadi sangeet etc in 2nd half was heavily borrowed from HAHK's mega success

Public needs entertainment and HAHK is entertainment, entertainment, entertainment

Entire village part is laughable. Punjabi Hindus mostly live in urban areas not rural. Also, amusing to show a Punjab village with no Sikh. Even more silly to show idyllic peaceful village in Punjab when in 1994-95, we still had militancy in Punjab and it was hardly that safe and there was police everywhere and encounters as well. Punjab became peaceful only post 1995.

Yeah I saw that painting in the window scenes. LMAO!

A Punjab village was anything but that. And gunfights between rivals in field or railway station was laughable.

Punjab was under disturbed areas act then. There was NO way civilians could be having own gunfights and police letting it happen. Factually it was unrealistic in militancy ridden rural Punjab.

Also, it seemed manipulative how Mandira's character likes SRK and gets false hopes.
