Brahmastra saw excellent collections overseas as it collected around the $8 million mark which is comforably the highest opening post the pandemic as no other film has crossed the $4 million mark. There are a few films with a $3 million plus weekend like Sooryavanshi, 83, KGF 2 and Laal Singh Chaddha but all were short of $4 million. This is also the sixth highest opening weekend of all time in Overseas though less if we take out Telugu.
The film was driven by the business in US / Canada which put an all time high of $4.5 million plus beating Padmaavat but if we take out Telugu then its the second highest opening ever after Padmaavat as that film did $4.4 million in Hindi alone. In Australia it also took the fourth highest opening ever after Padmaavat, KGF 2 and Sanju.
The performances were less in Gulf and United Kingdom but these markets are Muslim dominated and Brahmastra had that Hindi mythology angle which would have kept some of this audience away. The record grosser overseas post pandemic is KGF 2 with $9.1 million and this will cross that in the next couple of days. There will be a drop on weekdays as US / Canada will take a big hit. The apprx collections of Brahmastra overseas are as follows.
United Kingdom - £500,000 ($580,000)
USA / Canada - $4,550,000
Gulf - $1,200,000
Australia - A$903,000 ($620,000)
ROW - $1,150,000 apprx
TOTAL - $8,100,000 apprx (64 crore)
