I'm just stumped how people aren't realising that once again a star kid is taking away the limelight for his own problems from an outsider. This isn't his time for wanting 'justice'. He is not contributing to the issue at hand. He is just angry that he was relegated to sidey noms. Boohoohoo.

Indian awards do this on purpose. I can't remember anymore which movie it was for but once Rani was nominated as supporting and won. She didn't attend the show because she didn't want to be called a supporting actor. But from what I remember, the competition in the lead category was too tough that year and Rani would not have been able to win.

So Filmfare stuck her in Supporting on purpose so they could give her an award.

As I said, they should just let actors submit themselves in whatever category they want. If they're not good enough, don't nominate them instead of putting them in another category and then giving them that award.

It happens in the Oscars where actors figure out which category is easier to win and submit in that one. Even if they're a lead, they will deliberately go in Supporting or vice versa depending on where the competition is easier.

In my opinion, be a good host and nominate people according to the film, story and screenplay. Since it involves money nominate according to economy too but do not swap categories.

But I guess I am expecting too much from Bollywood and it's awards.

We now know about awards and lobbying

Yes there are many layers of how thing works in bollywood. One reknown actress had tiff with writer of the movie while trying to take credit from that movie as a writer

She conviniently misused womens card when one of the actor of the movie refused to reshoot the portion of that movie which she herself wanted to redirect. She said that actor didn't want to work with her coz he didnt want to work under female director. This happened when thst actor had ajready worked under another female director.
