So let ms get this straight. Nobody from the film industry should speak up when they are treated unfairly unless it fits the current narrative that's going on? Wow.
Abhay felt he lost out due to lobbying, which is very much the center stage right now when we are discussing about nepotism, blinds, power play and what not. He's got a reason to be miffed and he spoke his mind. It all the more is going to add to the narrative how award functions manipulate and does the industry. He might not have spoken before because he wasn't presented with an opportunity perhaps. This hits me like the #meetoo movement when people were mad (read:stupid) that some women did not report the crime right away and rather came forward when they felt comfortable about the movement.
Although comparing these two instances is a bit reaching but the point is that we can't decide when an affected party speaks up. It's not up to you and me. He felt he could add to what's wrong with the industry and hence expressed his experience. This doesn't take away anything from SSR's case but rather awakens general public who aren't experts on this forum to lobbying.

Sometimes, I feel like she has her agents on this placec who feed her fodders to forward her agenda. Perhaps, she herself is lurking on this forum.
She and her sister both must be lurking on here, twitter, pinkvilla. Rangoli once called Kjo papa jo in one of her tweets right after a member here started calling him that.
One thing I never understood is people here always complain about how much unfair and shitty are awards shows. Yet, I see people discussing pages after pages every chawanni chap award show. On the one hand they complain awards shows are farce, yet, they desperately want their favorite to any win same awards.
Im sure he did and clearly he states that Farhan was OK with it. I dont see what u don’t understand from his post. Its an established fact that award shows are a big lobby and only the known names and the ones pushed by favoritism are selected in categories and decided as winners. Award shows have ZERO credibility.
Dude audience was already trending boycott Filmfare earlier this year.
There was so much attack on Filmfare 2017, that they had go eventually give the award to Aamir for Dangal, and also accommodate Manoj for Aligarh.
And we all know the disdain people before have shown about Filmfare. It isn't something new he has talked about. I mean, awards in India aren't taken seriously by audience.
I did say, in normal circumstances, him complaining how he didn't got the nominations for best actor in lead role is understandable. I am not even saying, he is saying he should have been nominations, I get it he means supporting actor didn't made any sense. But the thing is, in current times people are talking how undeserving people get awards, and not how undeserving people get nominations in wrong category. I mean Abhay as far as we gather will be the first person to tell us that ZNMD cast didn't deserved any nominations in acting category.
My real thoughts are ZNMD sucked and didn’t deserve anything
Rather give it to bodyguard
People are misunderstanding what he is trying to say
He wants to bring to the attention that while 3 actors played a role in a movie, how is that one got the best actor nomination, and rest 2 were pushed to supporting role.
How did that happen, who made that decision, and how lobbying happened to make that decision.
It wasn't about him "wanting" a best actor nomination etc
It was about this pick and choose policy based on lobbying.
How did that happen, who made that decision, and how lobbying happened to make that decision.
Maybe Hrithik just charmed everyone
