On Sunday morning, 18-year-old Kashmiri National Film Award-winning actress Zaira Wasim, took to social media to announce her 'disassociation' from the field of acting as her 'relationship with her religion was threatened'.
Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon apparently took an indirect jibe at her. In a cryptic tweet, she seems to have called out an anonymous 'two-film-old' 'ungrateful'.
Raveena Tandon said, "Doesn’t matter if two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all. Just wish they’d exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves."
Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen also seemed to disagree with the 18-year-old's decision. She tweeted, "Oh My Goosebumps! Bollywood’s talented actress Zaria Wasim now wants to quit acting because she thinks her acting career almost destroyed her faith in Allah. What a moronic decision! So many talents in Muslim community are forced to go under the darkness of the burqa."
