I'm a huge fan of Mohit-Emmy combos and I think he really touches some risky, unique ideas/concepts. But is he under-rated?! Or not talked about enough or not given proper attention come award season?

Granted, he heavily "borrows" or copies the script from foreign films, but a lot of other directors have done that in the past too. I mean Imtiaz Ali tends to present the same boy meets girl thing, David Dhawan, the Khan siblings, etc. He himself said he never wants to create his own masterpiece, but just give his best and hope that's good enough. So is he a pretty good director, or could he be better?

Some of his works if you need a quick recall: Zeher, Kalyug, Woh Lahme, Awarapan, Raaz 2, Murder 2, and Crook.

BTW: I think Mohit-Emmy should keep working together, they make some of the best films ever by exploring new genres. I thought the whole serial killer part of Murder 2 was so beautiful conceived and presented. Opinions?

After Vikram Bhatt, Mohit is the worst product of Bhatt camp. Kunal Deshmukh (From the same camp) makes better movies than him.

The only movies directed by him that I have seen are Raaz 2 and Murder 2. Raaz 2 sucked. I had high expectations from it since I loved the first Raaz yet I was so let down Murder 2 on the other hand was good. I don't know if it was a copy of some other movie or not and frankly I do not care. It was a good product and I enjoyed it although he could have done SO much better. But it was a good effort. However, one point I do want to mention is that he has a really good ear for music. I LOVE the music in his movies😃

Murder 2 was so OTT my god. I walked off the theatre where the killer was killing the girl in temple. It was so exaggerated. What did the director want. of course we had sympathy for the girl being killed. but that was too disturbing. couldn't take it.

and seriously how this film became a blockbuster beyond me. bollywood is heavily unpredictable.

Underrated? Lol

The guy copies foreign movies, scene by scene and still ends up making crap.

Out of all those, I only liked Awarapan and Murder 2. Those were the only two movies where his direction was decent. Otherwise he's a below average director.

Havent watched any of his movies but all of the mentioned movies are crap either commercially or critically. The saving grace of his career is 'Woh Lamhe'.
