Mr. Katju sounds insane. I wonder if we should dig up his judgments under RTI. God knows what logic he applied while passing the judgments during his run as the judge.

Vel going by the same logic law shud not prosecute ppl in hit and run accidents also as they do not hurt/kill someone intentionally most also have families...

If having families is a reason to pardon someone who not only bought a gun from a terrorist and destroyed evidence then as compared people in hit and run cases have done nothing...

Sanja Dutt has already served his term... He is NOT A TERRIORT and is was detained because of prescene of illegal arms in his house! Under Arms Right law - Maximum punishment is 1.5 years1

which Sanjay has already payed!

In short Katju appeal is justified!

But its really stupid for politicans to compare Sanja with MunnaBhai - Immature

aree B... the ppl who help him destroy that gun are still in jail... isn't it unfair on those people just because they didn't had a powerful support...

Sanju baba at least was bailed out and was able to do films... travel around the world... made money... got married and had kids... what suffering he is talking abt????????🤔🤔

Just an FYI - Mr. Katju himself wrote on his blog that SD did a "social service" by playing Munnabhai, no politician said such thing. Someone needs to tell him, SD just played a character.. the lines, the character was written by someone else 🤔

I'm not a law student and have no clue about these Acts. All I know is one thing - The Supreme Court of India heard his case and gave the judgment. If he or anyone else has a problem they can and will move the courts or do whatever the legal procedure is.

I'm sure he himself will do that. But PLEASE I don't need someone, like Mr. Katju, to tell me that he should be pardoned because he played Munnabhai, has a family, parents were social workers and all that jazz. If the sentence can be reduced due to the provisions of the Acts, then nobody will have a problem.. but tell that in the courts, not on blogs.

You see this country is not a Banana republic, yet. There can't be one set of rules for celebs/powerful people and another set for poor people.

Sanjay Dutt got away without being implicated as a terrorist bcoz his illustrious father used his political clout to influence the investigation. Simple as that. Most of his accomplices are undergoing life sentence..he has to thank his stars for this lenient punishment.

He may not be a terrorist himself, but he was hand in glove with those main conspirators. Doesn't deserve any sympathy whatsoever!!

Had Shiney Ahuja's father been a politician, even he wouldn't have been charged as a rapist!! Seriously!! Mr.Katju shd be made to sit thro Rascal n Chatur Singh zero star for making these ludicrous statements!!😡

I am not LAW student ... but as per the news and information available online...

minimum punishment under Arms Act is 5 years and maximum is 10 years...

not 1.5 as you seems to think...😊
