Zeenat Aman's BTS revelations 'Iconic' outfits from 'Chhailla Babu' that set fashion trends in Bollywood

Zeenat Aman, the timeless Bollywood actress, continues to charm her fans with her captivating presence, both on and off the silver screen. Known for her candid and honest nature, she frequently treats her followers on social media with glimpses of her past and present. 

Today, Zeenat delighted her fans by sharing a stunning black-and-white throwback picture from the shoot of her movie 'Chhailla Babu,' which hit the box office as a suspense thriller in 1977.

In the shared BTS picture, Zeenat can be seen amidst the picturesque backdrop of the sea in Goa. With her signature grace and charm, she expressed, "Nahiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! Chhailla Babu was a suspense thriller that rocked the box office in 1977. It was produced by the lovely and easy-going Shomu Mukherjee, directed by Joy Mukherjee, and starred Rajesh Khanna. Romance, action, music, drama - it had everything in spades. Including a long drawn-out 'nahiiiiiiiin' by yours truly, which I think we can agree is pretty much the hallmark of Bollywood masala."

She also reminisced about the action-packed sequence she was involved in, revealing, "This snapshot was captured in between takes of the climactic action sequence that we shot at sea in Goa. And yes, I got to throw some punches too." Zeenat's dynamic performances and fearless portrayal of characters in her movies have left an indelible mark on the hearts of her admirers.

Known for her impeccable sense of style, Zeenat Aman's outfits in 'Chhailla Babu' were nothing short of iconic. Reflecting on her flamboyant fashion choices, she shared, "My outfits in the film were awesomely flamboyant. So, what am I wearing here? A black and pink (fake) leather bustier, a matching skirt, a scarf, and knee-high boots. And the entire ensemble was embellished with metallic studs! How’s that for an 'outfit of the day'?"

While, Zeenat cherishes many memories from her Bollywood journey, she also acknowledges that certain aspects of the past haven't aged well. Candidly expressing her thoughts, she admitted, "As an aside, I will admit that so many of the films that we made back then haven’t aged too well. In fact, my younger followers would be appalled by the 'red Indian' sequence in this film. Quite frankly, it makes me cringe too. Such caricatures were entirely the norm back then, and I am glad that I know better now!"
