This World Earth Day, our TV celebs have a message for everyone...

All of us were awed and inspired by Leonardo DiCaprio's memorable acceptance speech at the Oscars, where he mentioned about the climate change which is so drastic, recurring and real. And this whole massacre of global warming is caused by no one else but us; humans.
The condition on planet earth has reached an alarming stage, where in spite of repeated warnings and awareness plans, we do not REALLY do something about it.
And when it comes to actors, there is a certain notion about them, that they aren't actually aware and don't contribute much to the cause of saving the planet. However, that is not the case..! We list down the celebrities, on how do they do their bit and what is their message to everyone!
Well, you know, people take care of their families and loved ones with all their heart. However, if one goes to see, every human being on this planet is related to each other as it is this planet, which we all have in common. Hence, please take care of this relationship! And why only today, take care of this planet every single day of your life and it can be done when all of us are together and up for it! Earth was born to look Green; please don't take that away from it!
Mugdha Chapekar
I would like to remind all my dear ones about the scarcity of water we are facing. I recently read that India has only 28 trees after each person while others have in thousands. And not just being a talker, I have myself started taking measures towards it. From small steps like asking for only half-a-glass water in restaurants to steps in taking utmost care of using minimal water. Also, I will be planting trees in my apartment. And any measure should not just be taken for Earth Day, but one should continue doing it as and when possible.

I haven't taken a 'special' cause because I try to do my best to be gracious to our planet on a daily basis. And I hope every human being does that too. I am very particular about never littering and also stopping anyone from doing so. I have started doing my bit to save water on a regular basis. My message would be that I wish humans move from praying to who made the earth to what they gave us. Respect it and nurture it every single day. Consciously!
Karan V Grover
We are living on this planet as if we have another one to go. For a day, let's assume we don't have anything to protect but the earth we stand and live on. And then let's try to make this feeling an attitude towards mother nature. Once, this happens, Earth will be a much better place to live on.
Ravish Desai
We are all seeing the repercussions of global warming and this is just the beginning to an end..! It's time we change our lifestyle and give Mother Earth, the love, the nurturing and the care it requires. Respect the priceless space we have been given in this universe. Plant more trees, eco-friendly products and save water. It's time to act now. The little I have started to do is by planting trees around my house, also giving water extreme importance. Also, I used to burst crackers, which I have stopped now due to extreme pollution issues. On, World Earth Day, I urge each one of you to do your bit! Change begins with You, it begins with us!

Nothing special, but a dutiful act. Every day on my way to shoot, I cross Vasai bridge and see people stop on it and throw garbage off it. I stop them every time and tell them not to do so! The usual response is sorry, even before I can say anything. So, one can make out of this easily that they know they are doing a wrong thing; still they carry on doing it.
The second reason I hear is that there is pooja ka saaman (constituents of a prayer) which is holy and that if a particular right is to be performed it cannot be excused because it's for religious purposes. How much more wrong can it be! You might be disposing of flowers and other stuff which are organic and can decompose organically. But, what about the plastic bags you throw in it or for that matter the thread in the garlands which get stuck and sometimes strangles birds or fishes. My religion and my god is Mother Earth and I worship her.. If I respect your religion, please respect mine..!
Vinny Arora
I have been a part of the tree plantation programme many times. On World Earth Day, I want to ask people to take responsibility of their surroundings. The sudden climate changes is a huge alarm for all of us. Unless someone like you cares a lot, nothing is going to get better! Save water, plant trees and Say No to pollution. Respect Mother Earth!
Shikha Singh
One day doesn't justify preserving and conserving earth. Follow the four R's. Recycle- the products, Reduce- the pollution, Replenish- the resources and Restore-humanity and faith in us and Earth. Do it every single day of your life to have a better life not just for yourself, but your forthcoming generations too.
It is about time that we start acting before doomsday arrives..!
