Consciously or subconsciously, we all are aware that one of the factors putting India's health and women's safety at risk is the lack of public toilets. But has anybody initiated to resolve the issue?

As an episodic actor, Dhruvee pointed out the autocracies and crimes against women through various episodes of Savdhaan India - India Fights Back and Crime Patrol. But now, the actor has turned into a producer and will highlight social causes through her documentaries!

Having released her first documentary yesterday, the film titled 'Mala Laj Watat Nahi' (I am not ashamed) talks about the significance of public toilets. Especially for women.

When we contacted Dhruvee, she highlighted, "Women at Khar -Danda have to wait for a low tide in the sea so that they can attend nature's call. People have the money to build lavish malls and towers but nobody ever thinks about building toilets. Women there sit covering their privates with umbrellas because they have no option. It is disheartening."

"Keeping the thought in mind, my father and I wrote to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra but he did not show an ounce of courtesy. Things worked only when we approached the Prime Minister of India - Mr. Narendra Modi, who reverted in a week and passed orders to authorities to pay heed to the requirements of the poor. I am glad that toilets are now being built in the area. We are also in talks with Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who supports the same cause.

My next film will focus on sanitary wear which is packaged and manufactured inexpensively but are sold at an inflated amount. Sanitary too is a basic requirement for women and I feel it should be made affordable to women of all statures in the society." She added.

When asked about her career into acting, the pretty actress said, "Well, in a way this will help me explore better opportunities in my career too as I am acting in documentary."

Kudos Dhruvee!

she's doing some really good work. I'm really proud and happy for the work done by a fellow citizen. Self-styled arrogant celebrities should learn something from this.
