"We thought of shooting 10 years later" - Vijay Deverakonda on Samantha not shooting due to health condition

The trailer of Kushi is now out and the light-hearted tale with a lot of drama creates an impact. The love story of Viplav (Vijay Deverakonda) and Aaradhya (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) goes through hoops and the trailer showcases quite a journey to witness.

And as we talk about a journey, one knows the kind of journey leading lady of the film, Samantha Ruth Prabhu went through during the shoot. It was during the film's shoot itself where Ruth Prabhu's health deteriorated and she had to take time off. This led to Kushi being delayed and the cast of and crew had to wait for Ruth Prabhu to resume.

This was a huge step indeed where the female actor would go on to offer her vote of thanks to the entire team during the Interviews of Shaakuntalam.

At the trailer launch, Deverakonda was asked about the same, applauded for the same as he answered, "One can say that we did not have an option at that point. We had to wait and we were ready to do that. At one point of time, we even contemplated to divide the film into two timelines and shoot 10 years later. One portion of the film and its story will be the way it was shot and then we would shoot the rest 10 years later to cater to her health."

He added, "We (the director and himself) even joked about how we are not making the film now, so lets open an idli stand."

He concluded, "But on a serious note, we were ready to wait for her and we did as there is only one Aaradhya and that is Samantha."

Kushi is said to release on 1st September 2023.
