Wajid Khan Laid to Rest Besides Irrfan Khan's Grave; His Last Message Remembering Irrfan will Break your Heart

2020 is turning out to be a disastrous year, a nightmare that we all want to end soon. One one hand the world is dealing with the novel Coronavirus, along with various states in India is facing the wrath of locusts, sudden shocks of earthquakes and much more and on the other the film industry is suffering shocking setbacks one after the other.

It started off with the sudden demise of Irrfan Khan, followed by veteran actor Rishi Kapoor who left for heavenly abode the very next day. And while the industry was still recovering from the loss of its two gem, this morning news about another versatile artist passing away shocked everyone.

Music composer and singer of popular composer duo Sajid-Wajid, Wajid Khan left for heavenly abode early on Monday, June 1, 2020. He was 42 and according to media reports Wajid Khan’s death happened due to kidney failure and heart-related ailments and he was also diagnosed with COVID-19.

The musician had undergone a kidney transplant a few days ago and was hospitalized for more than two months. His health condition worsened in the last few days. Wajid Khan had also undergone heart surgery back in 2018. The last composition of Wajid Khan was Bhai Bhai for Salman Khan that the actor has recently released on the occasion of Eid.

According to the reports, Wajid Khan’s funeral took place at Mumbai’s Versova cemetery. The reports further revealed that Wajid Khan's burial was done next to actor Irrfan Khan’s grave at the Versova cemetery.

Wajid Khan’s burial happened in the presence of only two family members and he has been put to rest right next to Irfan Khan’s grave. Irrfan Khan had passed away on April 29 after a long battle with cancer. Reports further revealed that the last rites of the popular music composer took place at 5 AM during the holy time of the Azaan at the cemetery.

It was less than a month ago, that Wajid had taken to Twitter to mourn Irrfan Khan's death.

Remembering Irrfan, Wajid had tweeted, "Iss ankh micholi ke khel mein hamesha ek dhoondhta hi rehta hai aur woh nahin paas aata jo chupp jaata hai mere bhai @irrfank Allah aapko iss suffer imaan ki taazgi aapki rooh ko sukoon mile Aameen... May Allah bless your soul my brother.wahan ki zindagi Allah aahsaan kare Rip.

Almost a month after this tweet, Wajid Khan has embarked on his journey to heaven. As soon as the news of Wajid Khan's demise made it to the headlines, many stars and musicians from the industry took to social media to express shock and grief.

Stars like Priyanka Chopra, Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Nigam, Salim Merchant, Adnan Sami, Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh and many more mourned Wajid Khan's death on social media.
