The sudden change in weather in Mumbai brought a mix of emotions for its residents. While some found solace in cozying up with a cup of tea and hot pakodas, others faced distressing news as strong winds and rain wreaked havoc on the city. Among the unfortunate incidents, a towering hoarding near Chheda Nagar Gymkhana collapsed, resulting in injuries and loss of lives.
The abrupt collapse of the hoarding sent shockwaves through the city, with Bollywood actors Vijay Varma and Soni Razdan expressing their concern online. Vijay Varma took to Instagram to share a clip of the incident, accompanied by a heartfelt exclamation of 'Oh No,' while Soni Razdan, commenting on journalist Faye D’Souza's post about the incident, simply wrote, 'Terrible.'
As news of the incident spread rapidly on social media, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) swiftly joined the rescue efforts to assist those trapped under the debris.

However, it was revealed that the hoarding, which was illegally erected alongside a petrol pump, posed a significant risk to public safety, prompting scrutiny of unauthorized advertising structures by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.
