The Bad News actor Vicky Kaushal is all set for his highly anticipated film, Chhaava. Produced by Maddock Films, this forthcoming historical epic will feature Vicky in the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji. According to a recent report, the Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer Chhaava has caused the producers to delay Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi's film, Pooja Meri Jaan.
As per the report from Mid-Day, Pooja Meri Jaan, which was originally set to release in November this year, is now planned for a 2025 debut. The portal cited a source stating that the film starring Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi is particularly significant for producer Dinesh Vijan, and that Maddock Films has not ventured into this genre previously.
The source revealed that Vijan has opted to release Pooja Meri Jaan in early 2025. The producer has delayed its release due to major films coming out in the next two months, including the one starring Vicky Kaushal.
Regarding Chhaava, the source mentioned that the team aims to do justice to the ambitious biopic "in terms of promotions and buzz." The source added that the makers of Pooja Meri Jaan believed it warranted some breathing space since Varun Dhawan's Baby John is also set to release on Christmas.
"They didn’t want such an important message to be lost in the flurry of big-ticket, mainstream releases. Pushing it to next year felt right," the source further explained.
Helmed by Navjot Singh Gulati, Pooja Meri Jaan reportedly highlights the issue of stalking.
On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava also features Akshaye Khanna, Prakash Raj, Divya Dutta, Ashutosh Rana, and Neil Bhoopalam. The forthcoming film is an adaptation of the Marathi novel, named Chhava.
