Pooja Meri Jaan Delayed as Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Take the Stage This Diwali

Huma Qureshi and Mrunal Thakur’s upcoming film Pooja Meri Jaan, which was initially set to release in November 2024, has been postponed to next year. The makers have made this decision to avoid clashing with another high-profile project—the Vicky Kaushal-led biopic Chhaava, based on the life of the Maratha warrior Sambhaji Maharaj. 

According to the media reports, Pooja Meri Jaan and Chhaava set to bring significant stories to the big screen, releasing them too close to each other wouldn’t be a smart move. This sentiment seems to resonate with producer Dinesh Vijan, who is backing both projects. Sources suggest that Vijan has opted for a strategic change of plans, ensuring each film gets its due attention. By postponing Pooja Meri Jaan to 2024, the producer aims to give Chhaava the undivided focus it deserves, allowing the Vicky Kaushal starrer to make a greater impact at the box office. But still it's felt that makers have shifted the release date,for the Diwali dominance of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

As per a source of Midday, it's said 

It is a special film for Dinesh because it belongs to a genre that his production house hasn't explored so far. He was looking for the right time to bring the film to cinemas, and has finally slotted it for early 2025

The source further added " November has two big Diwali releases, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. On the first Friday of December, Vicky will bring Chhaava to the big screen. The team wants to do justice to the ambitious biopic, in terms of promotions and buzz. With Varun Dhawan's Baby John coming on Christmas, Pooja Meri Jaan's team felt it deserved breathing space. They didn't want such an important message to be lost in the flurry of big-ticket, mainstream releases. Pushing it to next year felt right".

With Pooja Meri Jaan now rescheduled, the focus for Diwali 2023 shifts to the much-anticipated blockbusters Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, promising a power-packed festive season at the box office.
