Creating an intimate scene on screen demands a high level of comfort and trust, a sentiment that actress Triptii Dimri recently experienced while shooting for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film "Animal" alongside co-star Ranbir Kapoor.
In "Animal," Triptii plays a significant role as Ranbir Kapoor's lover, eventually revealed to be a mole in the storyline. Before the revelation, the narrative unfolds with a blossoming romance between the two characters, featuring a carefully crafted frontal nudity scene.
Triptii shares insights into the discussions leading up to the much-discussed sequence. According to her, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was transparent from the beginning. She said, "The day he offered me the film, Sandeep sir had categorically told me, 'Hey, this is the scene I want to shoot; I am looking at it this way. I promise you that it won't be vulgar, that it will be aesthetically shot. But I have to look for your comfort. So if you are not comfortable, we will think of a different way to do it. But you need to tell me honestly."
After thoughtful consideration, Triptii gave her consent, emphasizing the importance of understanding the nature of a project before signing on. Drawing a comparison with a previous project, she notes that the intimate scene in "Animal" was not as traumatic for her as a specific scene in her OTT film "Bulbbul."
On the set of "Animal," Triptii describes a supportive and closed environment, highlighting the care taken to ensure her comfort. The scene was shot with minimal crew members, including Ranbir Kapoor, the Director of Photography Amit Roy, and Sandeep Vanga. The monitors were even shut down during the shoot, creating a safe and secure space for the actress.
Triptii expresses gratitude for Ranbir Kapoor's efforts in making her feel at ease. Despite initial nervousness, the actor emphasizes the importance of a safe and respectful working environment. The closed set and the assurance that she could call for a cut at any time contributed to Triptii's confidence during the shoot.
