One of the most versatile actors of Bollywood, Om Puri recognized for his iconic roles left for heavenly abode today.
Throughout his acting career, he has played various characters and has carved out a special place for himself in the entertainment industry. He always walked and talked with an attitude that portrayed seriousness and a sense of sensibility in his roles. Probably, that might be one of the reasons, why he is seen playing as a cop in more than 15 films.
Here, we have shortlisted Om Puri's five such films that will always remind us of him.

'Chachi 420' released in the year 1997, in this film Om Puri played the role of a secretary named 'Banwari Lal Pandit' and always suspects 'Chachi' (played by Kamal Hasan). Though he had a small screen space, his character added a touch of humor to the film.
The actor was seen playing the role of 'Balwant' aka 'Ballu'. His performance in 'Malamaal Weekly' had created a laughter riot among the audiences. In spite of playing a disciplined character in the film, he was easily able to tickle our funny bone with his acting.
This film marks one of the hilarious character's played by Om Puri. Unlike his roles in other films, Mere Baap Pehle Aap showcases another side of the actor. He is seen as a senior man who is always in search of a bride. His character in the film is one of the reasons why we wish to watch the film again and again.
The Hundred-Foot Journey
The actor plays the character of Mansur Kadam who heads the Kadam family. The actor was much lauded for his extraordinary acting in the film.

Though it was Paresh Rawal who had been the center of attraction in this film, we are bound to say that Om Puri's character adds a meaning and sense of emotion to the film. The actor plays a handicapped lawyer who guides Paresh Rawal's character in his legal fight for justice against the various institutes who earn money seek favors in the name of god.
Om Puri will always stay in our hearts and we pray for his departed soul to rest in peace.

how can you miss Ardh Satya and East is East..that was one of his best performances..his stint in Chachi 420 was one of my favourites too.. RIP om Puri..you were one of the rare breeds of genuinely good actors..loved your voice and the way you expressed yourself and the dignity you bought to your characters..loved your fearless ofscreen persona too..a life truly well lived!
