Mumbai, Nov 27 (IANS) An array of Indian film celebrities Thursday expressed shock at the demise of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes, who died after being struck on the head by a cricket ball. The incident, they said, reminds one of how fragile life is.
The 25-year-old Hughes, who represented the national team in 26 Tests between 2009-2013, fractured his skull and suffered massive bleeding in his brain after being hit by bowler Sean Abbot's bouncer in a Sheffield Shield match between South Australia and New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) Tuesday afternoon.
He underwent surgery, but succumbed without regaining consciousness.
Mourning Hughes' death, a string of actors and filmmakers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the incident as well as to express their sentiments for Abbot.
