Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora leave father’s home with Arjun Kapoor amid grief

On September 11, 2024, the Arora family faced an immense loss with the sudden death of Malaika Arora's father, Anil Mehta. The news shook the family to its core, prompting Malaika and her sister, Amrita Arora, to rush to their mother Joyce Polycarp’s home in Bandra to bid their final farewell. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Malaika was seen leaving the house later that evening, supported by her partner Arjun Kapoor and her son Arhaan Khan.

A video shared by a paparazzi on social media captured Arjun Kapoor gently guiding a grieving Malaika as she exited the residence. Arjun ensured her comfort and safety, accompanying her to the car where her son, Arhaan Khan, joined them. Amrita Arora was also there, providing her sister with much-needed support. Arjun’s dedication to Malaika was clear, as he stayed close by her throughout the evening.

Close friends Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor were also seen at the residence, offering their condolences to the family. The Kapoor sisters, known for their longstanding friendship with Malaika, were seen leaving together, sharing their sympathy and support during this tough time. Kareena and Malaika’s friendship has been strong for years, marked by their frequent appearances together at social events and their mutual support in difficult moments.

Malaika, who was in Pune when she learned of her father's death, returned to Mumbai immediately. Amrita, who had visited their parents the day before, came back with her husband Shakeel Ladak to pay her respects. Arbaaz Khan, Malaika’s former spouse, was also seen offering his condolences.

Earlier in the day, Malaika’s son Arhaan was seen leaving the residence with his cousin Nirvaan Khan and his aunt Amrita. The loss deeply affected him, as it did the extended Khan family. Salim Khan, Helen, Sohail Khan, and Alvira Agnihotri were among those who visited the Arora home to convey their sympathies.

Malaika shared her sorrow on Instagram, describing her father as a “gentle soul” and a “devoted grandfather.” The cremation is scheduled for September 12 at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai.
