Tamil movie actor Kamal Haasan, who is planning to jump into active politics, says there are "Hindu extremists" too.
Writing in a Tamil magazine, Kamal said that earlier rightwing Hindus used to argue but without indulging in violence.
But as their "cunningness" started to fail, they began to resort to violence, he said.
"Extremism has spread into their camp as well," the actor said. "This extremism is not a victory or progress to those who call themselves Hindus."
He moaned that these days festivals had been commercialized.
According to him, the older generation upper caste people who get jittery on seeing equality in society were now trying to impose Sanathana Dharma on the youth by coating it with honey.
This was being done through festivals, culture and art, he said.

Every religion have their own extremist group.. In our country politics only become successful if it is mix with religion.. Now a days each religions become customized.. Very sad truth..in old days people chooses religion for spirituality and peace.. But today its all abt bloodsheds, and whose religion is better and whose not.. why these people work for humanity and progress of citizen...extremists people in each religions r most ignorant ones, they simply follow some shallow objectives and make their own theories.. They never study deeply to know more abt their own religion so they can respect others too. I pity those people..

Bullshit analogy.. festivals getting commercialised is linking youth to extremism ... his use of ipper caste -lower caste already exposes the divide he wants in hindus.

There are extremists in every religion. It's the harsh truth that some people are too ignorant to believe.
