The Sabarmati Report Sees Strong Box Office Performance, Crosses ?11 Cr Mark with Tax-Free Boost

The Sabarmati Report, a political thriller featuring Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra, and Raashii Khanna, has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film, which depicts a hard-hitting story about one of India's most significant incidents, continues to grow steadily. On Day 5, it earned ?1.64 crore, taking its total box office collection to ?11.14 crore. The rise in numbers highlights the film’s increasing popularity and strong hold at the box office.
The consistent growth of The Sabarmati Report is fueled by positive word-of-mouth, tax-free status in multiple states, and praise from political figures. The film opened with ?1.69 crore on Friday and continued its impressive run, earning ?2.62 crore on Saturday (Day 2), ?3.74 crore on Sunday (Day 3), ?1.45 crore on Monday (Day 4), and ?1.64 crore on Tuesday (Day 5). With such steady numbers, the film is set to continue its successful run in the coming days.
Vikrant Massey expressed his gratitude on social media, sharing the box office numbers and writing, “Truth is finding its way into every heart. Thankful for all the love pouring in!” His words reflect the overwhelming support the film has received from both audiences and critics.
In an effort to further boost the film's visibility, two special screenings were held. One took place in Madhya Pradesh for Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his cabinet, while the other was in New Delhi for Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and BJP MP Anurag Thakur. After watching the film, Hardeep Singh Puri praised it for its gripping and intense portrayal of the 2002 Godhra train burning incident, commenting, “It is said that a lie travels halfway around the world, while the truth is still tying its shoelaces…”
The film's performance also received a boost due to the Maharashtra Elections on November 20. With higher footfall in cinemas, The Sabarmati Report saw an increase in collections, earning ?1.50 crore to ?1.60 crore on Day 6.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, The Sabarmati Report opened with ?1.25 crore and has steadily gained traction. By the end of Day 5, it has accumulated ?11.14 crore, proving its strong hold at the box office. The film, which focuses on the Godhra incident, continues to attract audiences across India.
Vikrant Massey, who is known for his roles in Lootera (2013) and Lipstick Under My Burkha (2016), plays the lead role in The Sabarmati Report, marking another successful milestone in his career.
