The Sabarmati Report Day 8: Vikrant Massey’s Film Shows Hope with Second Friday Jump

The Sabarmati Report, featuring Vikrant Massey, saw a significant dip in its earnings on Day 8 at the box office. The movie managed to collect only ?1.01 crore on the eighth day, bringing its total earnings to ?12.51 crore. Despite its buzzworthy release and strong backing, the film has struggled to maintain momentum in its collections.

Starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra, The Sabarmati Report revolves around the tragic events of the 2002 burning of the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express near Godhra station. The film has received attention from high-profile figures, including praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a screening attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with the cast. Despite such political support and tax-free status in many states, the movie has not seen substantial growth in its box office performance.

On Day 8, The Sabarmati Report once again failed to draw large crowds, earning just ?1.01 crore. This has taken its total collection to ?12.51 crore, a modest figure for a film with such widespread promotion. Although the movie had the advantage of being tax-free in several states, it has not capitalized on this benefit as expected.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently met the film’s cast, along with producer Ekta Kapoor and director Dheeraj Sarna. After their meeting, Shah shared his thoughts on social media: "Met the team of #TheSabarmatiReport and congratulated them for their courage to narrate the truth. The film exposes the lies and the misleading facts to unveil the truth that was suppressed for a long time to meet political interests."

Interestingly, the movie saw a 10% jump in collections on its second Friday, hinting at a potential recovery. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film has received mixed reviews but still holds promise for better numbers.

The coming days will determine if The Sabarmati Report crosses the ?15 crore milestone and gains momentum over the second weekend.
