Bollywood has always had a tough time with sequels. For multiple reasons the film makers are not able to connect the two films in a way that will appeal to the audience. Only a handful of films have been able to connect two consecutive films with grace. Tere Bin Laden: Dead Or Alive is one such film that has accomplished this task!
A lot of things change when the lead actor of the franchise changes. And it is a very difficult task to somehow incorporate that change into the film. But the way this story is crafted is surprising! Even though the film is based on the first part, the sequel stands apart from the first film.
Talking about the storyline, it is well crafted and progresses smoothly. It takes you on a ride that will tickle your funny bone and keep you engrossed. The story is very unconventional and not stereotyped.
I would give 4 out of 5 stars for the story.
Moving on to the actors, Manish Paul blends in the movie with ease. Pradhyuman Singh has grown as an actor and it is clearly seen in the film. A lot of actors from the first film are seen in this movie. An actor who as showcased fantastic skills in the movie is Sikander Kher! He had a very nice screen presence and has major contribution to the film! None of the actors disappointed me but one of the actors who had an important part in the first half was should have been incorporated in the final sequence.
I would give 4 out of 5 stars for the team of actors.
Talking about the dialogues, there were a lot of chances to extend interesting scenes that would have given the writers to create even more humour. The dialogues in this film were well written and different. The first part had more powerful dialogues and there was a scope of improvement in this part.
I would give 3 out of 5 stars for dialogues.
Now to talk about the direction of the film, the film is nicely captured. The locations and sets were well built and the scenes looked convincing. There were some glitches with the direction though. There were scenes where a few objects and actors were out of place. Although these glitches are easily noticeable, they don't bring down the overall appeal of the film.
I would give 3 out of 5 stars for the direction.
Over all this film was very fun to watch. It is something fresh out of the box. The best part of this film is that you don't need to watch the first part of the film to connect to the second one! The film is very entertaining and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Overall rating- 3 stars.
