Taika Waititi answers if Gorr in 'Thor' is similar Thanos

Undoubtedly one of the most-awaited movies in the recent past and undeniably one of the biggest ones is Thor: Love and Thunder, The fourth installment in the Thor series and the first Marvel superhero to even have a fourth movie, the mega film is up for release in the next couple of days.

One of the reasons for Thor's constant success and acceptance has been the fact that Thor: Ragnarok was accepted immensely well both by the critics and viewers alike as it had Taika Waititi taking the director's chair. His signature humor and distinct style made it better indeed and hence, he returned as the director for Thor: Love and Thunder.

In a recent chat with ETimes, Waititi opened up on the similarities between Gorr and the iconic Marvel villain, Thanos and even about Indian representation in future MCU films.

First talking about Indian representation, Waititi said, "Yeah, I'd love that. Why not? At this stage, anything goes. There are no rules anymore. We can do whatever we want. I'd love a New Zealand superhero, I'd love to have Indian superhero, we need native American superheros. Wherever we go, people complain about immigrants. Can you imagine the flavour of food without them? Without Indian food in America or England, we'd just be eating soggy vegetables. We'd have to eat just flavourless sausages. Food that makes all the countries great is all from immigrant countries. It's their flavour, baby."

Talking about people claiming there are some similarities between Gorr and Thanos, to which he said,

It never really crossed my mind because I never thought of Thanos as a father. And what he did to get that stone, I never felt there were those emotions. And in my film, I really feel the father's pain. I understand a lot more why he is doing it. I understand the character of Gorr a lot more.

We definitely cannot wait for the latest instalment of Thor: Love and Thunder to be rolling soon.
