Tahira Kashyap has taken a significant step into the world of filmmaking with her debut feature film, "Sharmajee Ki Beti." Recently, she was asked if being married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana helped her in the film industry. Her candid response is truly heartwarming.

In an interview with India Today, Tahira addressed the speculation about her husband's influence in her career. She stated, “If being Ayushmann’s wife helped me get contacts and access, it wouldn’t have taken me seven years to venture into cinema.” She humorously added that if she had relied on her husband's connections, she would have simply had Ayushmann do a cameo to get her movie greenlit easily.

Tahira also revealed that despite the temptations to use her husband's influence, she chose to pave her own way.

When it comes to nepotism, Tahira Kashyap has a clear stance. The author of "The 7 Sins of Being a Mother" expressed that she is focused on her own career path and values her integrity. “I have to live with my conscience. If it had something to do with nepotism, I would have had a different career trajectory. I would have been making my fourth film now,” she remarked.

Tahira, a proud cancer survivor, emphasized that while she doesn't judge others for taking advantage of nepotism, her journey has been different. She acknowledged that some parents work incredibly hard to make things easier for their children, and that's acceptable. However, she believes that those who benefit from nepotism still need to prove their worth as they won't get endless opportunities.

On a lighter note, Tahira joked about finally utilizing her husband's popularity. “I will make Ayushmann post stories about my film. Istemal karna chaiye (I should use him),” she giggled.

"Sharmajee Ki Beti," now streaming on Prime Video, features a talented cast including Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, Sharib Hashmi, and Saiyami Kher. Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in "Dream Girl 2" and is gearing up for his upcoming projects, "Border 2" led by Sunny Deol and "Vampires of Vijay Nagar" with Rashmika Mandanna.
