Prime Video has announced the global premiere date for the slice-of-life comedy film "Sharmajee Ki Beti, which is presented by Applause Entertainment and produced by Ellipsis Entertainment. Written and directed by Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, the film features an impressive cast including Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, and Saiyami Kher in lead roles, with Vanshika Taparia, Arista Mehta, Sharib Hashmi, and Parvin Dabas also starring.

"Sharmajee Ki Beti" is a light-hearted, heartwarming story that explores themes of women’s empowerment and the various challenges women face. The film portrays the lives of three middle-class women and two teenage girls, all sharing the common surname ‘Sharma’. Through their unique experiences and struggles, the movie delves into their aspirations, dreams, and the resilience that defines them.

Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, making her debut as a filmmaker with this project, has crafted an innocent and simply told narrative that aims to leave viewers smiling. The film celebrates the strength and dreams of women across different generations, making it a sincere and heartfelt family entertainer.

The film had its premiere at the recently concluded Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, where it received an overwhelming response. It was screened twice at the festival, with both screenings ending in standing ovations for Khurrana and her team. In an earlier interview, Tahira shared her motivation behind making the film, emphasizing her desire to reach people's hearts and evoke empathy through her storytelling. She believes in portraying hope and optimism, avoiding the depiction of sorrow and painful experiences.
