Sunny Deol opens up on the real reason behind hesitating to make 'Gadar 2 '

Millions of ardent fans of Sunny Deol and the iconic movie Gadar had been caught in a prolonged waiting game, hoping for a sequel that would match the grandeur of its predecessor. Finally, the much-anticipated moment arrived as the makers of Gadar 2 unveiled its trailer on the proud occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas. The release of the trailer marks a significant milestone in the journey of Gadar 2, and the excitement among the audience is palpable.

Sunny Deol, who is set to reprise his iconic role as Tara Singh, shared his initial scepticism about the idea of a sequel to the blockbuster hit, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. He acknowledged that while they made Gadar, it was the audience that transformed it into a colossal success. 

However, the challenge of living up to the legacy of the original film did concern him. It was only when filmmaker Anil Sharma presented the script of Gadar 2 that Sunny's doubts were put to rest. The conviction and passion behind the narrative convinced him to take up the mantle once again. In his own words, "We have tried to make a complete film, and I hope the audience shows the same kind of love and warmth as they did 22 years ago."

Director Anil Sharma, shared his journey of convincing the actor to embrace Gadar 2. Sharma revealed that initially, Sunny was hesitant to tread the path of a sequel as he felt Gadar's stature was already a blockbuster, and tampering with it might not be a wise decision. However, Sharma, driven by the relentless requests of fans nationwide, urged Sunny to consider the emotional connection people had with the film and the desire for a sequel. After persistent efforts, Sunny agreed to listen to the script. As the narration unfolded, emotions ran high, and tears welled up in Sunny's eyes, sealing the beginning of Gadar-2's extraordinary journey.

The trailer of Gadar 2 sets the screens ablaze with Sunny Deol reprising his role as Tara Singh and Ameesha Patel returning as Sakeena. Packed with pulsating action and powerful dialogues, the trailer has already captured the hearts of the audience. Adding to the film's allure, Anil Sharma's son, Utkarsh Sharma, plays a pivotal role, promising an ensemble cast. The film is all set to hit theatres on 11th August.
