Suniel Shetty recently slammed a Twitter user who tagged him as "Gutka King" and criticised him for endorsing a tobacco brand. A twitter user shared a hoarding featuring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Shah Rukh Khan, but tagged Suniel Shetty instead of Ajay Devgn and wrote, "Hey #GutkaKingsofIndia. Your children must feel ashamed of you for leading the country in the wrong direction. Don't lead india to cancernation stupids.”

Suniel Shetty, who pointed out the error, wrote, "Bhai tu apna chashma adjust kar le ya badal de (Brother, adjust your glasses or change them)" and added the folded hands emoji. Accepting responsibility for the error, the netizen wrote to the actor, "Hello Suniel Shetty. Sorry, it was simply mistagged, and I didn't mean to offend you, bhai, lots of love. It should be  (@ajaydevgn) As I am your fan, your name should always be first in the tag.”

Actor Akshay Kumar also recently received backlash on the internet for endorsing a tobacco brand. Soon after, the actor apologised to his fans and disassociated himself from the brand. "I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers," Akshay said in a social media post. “Your reaction over the last few days has had a profound impact on me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect your sentiments in light of my association. I take a step back in humility. I've decided to donate my entire endorsement fee to a worthy cause."

Many other actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Allu Arjun and others have turned down endorsing a tobacco brand.
